Advantages:
- It was simple to put on because I didn’t need to push my testicles inside the ring; I just wrapped the ring around them.
- The cage is lightweight and breathable, feeling comfortable with a pleasant angle for the penis.
- With an embedded lock, there’s no risk of it colliding with the cage, preventing awkward moments.
Disadvantages:
- The lock felt somewhat loose and seemed ready to fall out, although this never actually occurred.

LOL My inaugural device was homemade: six rings welded together by short rods between them, with a smaller ring at the end and a larger cut ring that acted as a hinge. Tabs on top allowed for insertion of the lock. It was terrible! LOL—highly functional but poorly sized and couldn't be worn long. The first one I purchased was an original CB_3000: a plastic cage with a hinged round base ring. I loved it immediately, especially how it looked when aroused, resembling canned ham squeezed into the tube. I tried to find a picture of it, but its design seems to have changed since then. The curve. It’s a bloody huge thing. The fit is perfect, yet I had endless night issues and struggled to hide it in my pants. Walking caused the lock to bang against the cage like a child's drum.

I also bought the Curve as my initial device, and there were benefits. I could experiment with different ring sizes and gaps. Also, I learned that a 1 1/2" inside diameter tube fits me perfectly. Most devices have an ID of 1 3/8", and that eighth of an inch makes a big difference for me. Additionally, it made me realize that the length of the tube/cage is only part of the device's total length, which includes the gap plus the width of the base ring. The Curve allows partial nocturnal erections to happen downward due to the tube shape. This feels very different from a properly fitting device that stops ereptions early on. A masochistic side enjoys having my erections forced down, so I still have a Curve that I occasionally sleep in. On reflection, there were more pluses than minuses with the Curve as a first device. After all, what are the odds of getting a perfect device right away?
I agree that trying multiple ring and spacer size combinations is beneficial. That’s exactly what we did during our brief trial of the CB6000S. We won’t go back to it, but those experiments were useful.

Yeah, my first was the original CB-2000.... quite a torture device compared to our current ones. I also had the CB-3000 which improved things but not by much.

Like others found they were hard to hide and keep clean, and that clanking lock really annoyed me. The move to steel was eye-opening, as well the trend toward increasingly smaller cages. Now I have three steel ones of different sizes, all much smaller than what sellers' websites recommend, and capable of long-term wear.

Why do so many of us, me included, start off thinking that the clunky old CB range is the way to go? Somehow that range has been successful in becoming a best seller even though many of us discover that it's no so great after all. Is it simply good marketing maybe? I think part of it is not so good marketing on the part of the other products. Poor descriptions and lack of guidance on measuring etc. added to the mistaken belief that those small/tiny cages are just too ridiculously small to be of any real use. "How could I ever get into that?" doesn't sound like a stupid question when a newby looks at his willy alongside a picture of cage no bigger than a small conker. The revelation on moving to steel and smaller cages, and then much smaller cages is astonishing. "Yes, it does fit in those things after all and what's more, it's more comfortable." it's strange. It's incredible. But it's true! When the Cobra Nano or Nub was suggested for me as a replacement for the next to useless CB6000S, I thought it couldn't possibly work but it turned out to be one of the best fitting and comfortable cages of all. And effective too. One missing piece of information on all of the websites selling these things seems to be that "smaller is better". Yes, you really do need a cage that's shorter than your cock, as counter-intuitive sounds. The makers of the CB range don't tell you that of course. But neither do the sellers of the other options promote that aspect and many don't even offer advice in that direction. Sexy words about how you will be humiliated seeing your miserable cock locked up but little practical help on how to measure and what you actually need. Like you I've got 3 steel cages (all from House of Denial) that are all short and small in my opinion (much smaller than the CB6000S) plus the Cobra Nub, which is the smallest of the Cobras as far as I know. We call the biggest of the steel cages the 'big' one (keyholder instructions) but it's still shorter than my flaccid penis. Easy to keep clean, no clanky padlock, unobtrusive and comfortable to wear. In fact I'm wearing the 'big' one now and I can forget it's even there most of the time. When I get reminders then there's definitely no doubt that it's there of course.

CB6000
My first cage was a Chinese CB6000 knock-off from AliExpress. It was far too big and made of poor quality materials; the ring broke after just a few days. But it didn’t discourage me. After some trials and errors, I found a much better model.
