I’ve been attempting to post on MissEmmi’s account, but it keeps bouncing me back to my previous entry. Even if I edit that earlier post, the original one stays unchanged after submission. MissEmmi has also flagged this problem. However, posting in other threads works fine for me Could this be linked to the recent maintenance?
Are you referring to replying within a thread she started? Or is it happening in her journal?
I am aware that Miss Emmie ( *@KHEmmi* ) was unable to post directly to her own [KHEmmi] journal. It has happened a few times, I believe. It seems somewhat random or intermittent??
Yes, specifically when replying to an ongoing thread she initiated in the Journey. I am logged in and click 'Post a reply', but it takes me back to my very last post, making it look like I’m editing that earlier entry.
I haven't encountered any issues myself, whether using a PC or my phone. You might need to clear the cache in your mobile browser.
That could be it, but is that straightforward? And will I lose any of my saved passwords? Thanks
I took the risk and cleared the cache since internet advice suggests that passwords remain safe. Fortunately, it seems they were correct!
FYI, clearing your browser cache generally won't remove saved passwords because those are typically stored separately.
Just adding to this discussion. I use an android phone (samsung). Posting usually works fine for my own threads or others. However, I do notice a glitch when replying to a PM, which appears related to both my mobile and web cache. To put it simply, the header and PM box get filled with old autosaved data instead of the current reply headers, and the text area is pre-populated with an older saved message that has already been sent. The autosave feature seems to be the culprit for me. This pre-filled information fails to send; even if I delete it and type new content, it still tries to send the old data first before glitching out. Logging out or clearing the cache doesn't immediately fix this behavior. It repeats itself until I log back in. (Fyi, a quick way to clear the cache is using your phone's built-in cleanup/optimise app, or ccleaner on PC). To successfully send when this occurs, I have to log out of the forum entirely, visit any other website/html page, then clear my cache before returning to the forum. Alternatively, clearing the cache and refreshing the page works too. The PM opens with the correct reply title and an empty text box. Hopefully, this helps someone!
> In short it fills the header and pm box with a previous autosave, rather than with the current (re:) header, and the text box is pre filled with an autosaved massage that had already gone. > The autosave seems to be the issue for me. 🤷🏼♂️ Nope. Android here, not doing that for me.
I just attempted to post a reply in my own thread [KHEmmi] regarding yesterday's comments. It isn't working. When I click the "submit" button, it turns grey... I was able to post in other threads earlier this morning...
And as you can see, I've managed to get a post through here too!
I’m going to try logging out and back in to see if that resolves the issue...
Have you tried clearing your cache? It could be helpful. MsM’s ld
It worked, thank you. I have no idea why I can usually post without a hitch but then occasionally this glitchy behavior occurs. At least I'm not alone; others have reported similar issues.
I can’t add a post to my journal. When I hit submit, it just auto-saves whatever I typed without actually posting. How do I fix this?
First thing to try: If you're using a PC web browser, clear your cache. Doing a hard reset (shut down completely rather than just restarting) can't hurt. If you are on a phone, clear the cache and restart your device fully.
It is pretty random. It happens for some people but not others. For me personally, it occurs when replying to private messages and sometimes when trying to send one out. An old message or stored data appears instead of the current content, and they simply won't submit. The situation was worse this morning; clearing the cache didn't help, nor did logging out and back in. I eventually found a solution. I had to clear all stored web browser data rather than just the temporary cache files. This action brought up an option to accept cookies which I hadn't seen before. So maybe try opening your browser on PC or android, click menu/settings/data stored/delete all data. When you log back in, it should prompt you to accept cookies. These settings will not erase your saved passwords.
Sorry to say I’m experiencing this now too. I have to clear all my history and re-login every time I try to post a reply or PM, otherwise it fails. Something is definitely wonky somewhere!!??? MsM’s ld
I haven't been having this issue; I'm running Win 7 and FireFox. My machine hasn't been rebooted in...months? I do need to close FF periodically because it creates multiple instances that consume a lot of memory.
Our experiences mirror Mr Pickle's. I agree it seems so random. It works for a while, sometimes quite a long time, and then the 'submit' button stops working again. Restarting my laptop usually does the trick. When I open the browser and go to chastityforums it prompts me to "Accept cookies" (every reboot). Once I do that, everything starts working normally. For a while at least. It's all rather odd.
Fwiw I’m usually just using my iPhone with Safari as the browser. Had no issues until yesterday then it went really nuts but seems to have finally settled down this morning (says he touching his old wooden head!) MsM’s ld
ive found this works. rather than switch off. leave the page. delete data in settings security. or ask it to do it when you shut web browser automatically to save the hassle. i have firefox on here. but also has this on android phone
Seems fine today for now but if it starts again I’ll try switching to Firefox as my phone browser instead of Safari. I use Firefox on my MacBook Pro and Desktop Mac so I’m comfortable with either option. Thanks for the tip. MsM’s ld
It sounds like one of your extensions is to blame, specifically the one that auto-saves your half-finished post. I'll disable it for now - losing a post halfway through sometimes isn't as bad as many users being unable to use the forum at all Let me know how it behaves after this change, please
Dang, I forgot that was an extension. Good catch.

I find it easier to type directly into Word anyway (not sure why!) so doing it this way doesn't feel like a chore.
It’s all still working fine for me now so I only had issues for about 24 hours. MsM’s ld
> the one that auto-saves your half-finished post. And here I thought it was just me not knowing how things worked. But yes if I spent too much time on a single reply, I would have to copy and paste into a new reply window in order for it to load correctly. This only happens if I leave the original reply open for too long. There may be a timing out issue with that extension.
If I'm writing a long post, I'll use a text editor (on my phone) then copy it over to the web page. I think that our board software had an update recently, and this update is interfering with some of the other tools we rely on.
I’m stuck with an iPad at the moment. I just did a lengthy post and it loaded fine. Thanks for all the admin work.
