Smaller Cages and the Risk of Escape

So I’ve been told to find a shorter cage. Years ago, I worked down from an 8cm first plastic model based on the ‘best’ advice, and now I’m wearing a 3cm open metal HoD JTS 215 medium cage. To get smaller still, the best option I can find is the same design but in small size at 2.5cm. However, the big change is that my current 3cm one has an angle: it’s only about side while measuring 4.5 cm on the other side. The 2.5 cm version has no angle, so I imagine it will be much more cramped, which suits me fine. As I’ve moved down in sizes, ironically escape has become harder for me. But does a point come where I could actually fall out of a cage if it’s too short? Also, urethral tubes are completely unacceptable to my wife. I do need to go down quite a bit in size as she instructed, but not all the way to flat.

I should add that urethral tubes are a total no no for my wife. Herbi wears a House of Denial S160, which measures 2cm. There is absolutely no chance of 'falling out'. In fact, he says it's the tightest one in his collection and holds everything firmly in place.

I liked that cage design but the hinge put me off; I have had a hinged one before from HoD and experienced pinching issues with it.

The hinged ring makes it fiddly to put on, but once it’s on there's never been any pinching or other bad aspects. I guess a solid, non-hinged ring would be easier to manage, but it's not as if he's constantly having to take it off and put it back on so that fiddly aspect isn't really a problem.

Good and tight as Miss Emmie has said. What may also be a relevant factor is the gap between the ring and the cage, which is quite small and not adjustable. This might be a problem for some but it suits me fine and keeps the whole device and its contents still, in place, and secure. No falling out, that's for sure.

> What may also be a relevant factor is the gap between the ring and the cage Very true indeed. In fact this might be one of the most overlooked aspects. Ergonomic rings are also more susceptible to having a larger gap.

member_e33d73df19 30 Aug 2026 #7

I have a cage this size, as well as some flat ones and quite a few bigger ones. They all fit the same hinged ring. Once you get the hang of it, it becomes second nature. With this 3cm or smaller cage size. Falling out would be virtually impossible. Pulling out would be just as easy with any cage mind you. I have a steel urethral that prevents this and also makes peeing and the whole cage routine easier and more hygienic. Believe me when I say "There is no such thing as Too small". Hmmmm. I feel a caption coming on. Anyway. Have fun with it. Squished is the way to go.

Thanks all, I must say I'd overlooked the HoD 160 as it didn't indicate other sizes were available on the front page, so I've taken the plunge and ordered one. Not sure when it will arrive since Mistress K is ill, but hopefully soon (I think). Thanks for the tip Emmi and for the reassurance Herb; hopefully she will approve. I thought I was squished at 3cm, however what I think might be irrelevant. And she wants smaller, in her words 'I want you really frustrated'. Actually I thought I already was:( but again apparently I'm wrong. With regards to gap, I've never had an issue with any of the cages from HoD, so maybe I've been lucky. Looking forward to the new arrival with trepidation. Looks like Herb and I will be in the same boat soon:o

Miss Emmie’s find of the s160 for Herb also struck a chord in our quest for the next cage. My kh requested I go as short as comfortably doable .. for long term wear. HOD makes it sound like it will arrive in 5-7 days. 2cm…. Whew. Will be sweating this one.

I would add that this somehow feels tighter, even the ring feels tighter despite being the self same ring that I use for other HOD cages. The no movement means it's comfortable though. Only slight downside, or something to bear in mind at least, is that being tight makes it more difficult to keep as clean. Getting water from the shower hose into everywhere takes time and drying afterwards isn't so easy either. It's possible, but you need to take a bit more time over it.

Hmm tight and no movement…. I guess that is a good thing haha. Hopefully it pleases the KH! That’s the main point. Have you attempted to check compatibility of a non-hinged base ring with the cage? Or does it only work with the hinged ring? That’s probably my biggest concern.

The HOD website has a list of cages compatible with the hinged ring and another list compatible with the solid ring, so I don't think they are interchangeable. I haven't looked into a solid ring from anywhere else, because Herbi hasn't had any problems with the hinged one. The only negative is that it's quite fiddly to put on but as I've said to him, it's not as if he's going to be taking it off and putting it back on every five minutes.

First off a reality check. Anyone can pull out of a chastity cage unless you are pierced. I have been locked for 15 years and seen all but a few Men stick with chastity longer than a few months. Many reasons, but the dirty secret of chastity is that most of us can make ourselves orgasm whenever we want. Don’t believe me, just look at porn. If a woman can make you orgasm with a vibrator so can you. Heck, you can insert a swab and jerk off. Once I came simply by jerking off while wearing my cage. So let’s not pretend that a cage is going to force us to be orgasm free. To succeed in chastity you need self control as I learned and practice. Well, most times because I am a realist. So don’t worry about the size of the cage. If you want to orgasm you can do so easily even if pierced by using a vibrator. This is why almost everyone gives up on chastity within a few months. Just check all the old posts on any site to see with very few exceptions they are gone. Heck, even the marketing manager of the CB line stated that 90% of their cages end up in a drawer after a few weeks in an old interview. Yes you can enjoy wearing a cage during sex under supervision but to wear it 24/7 for months without an orgasm is rare. I have been following chastity before the internet was graphical. I followed Tom when he was publishing his journal. Other than him, no one else I knew lasted long. My point is that we all go into chastity excited by porn but after reality sinks in and you actually feel the effects, it is much different than what you felt watching or reading about it in porn. So unless you have a lot of self control, don’t worry about pulling out as there are other ways to orgasm while wearing a cage. I did 20 years on the honor system because my wife had a live-in female lover; she is not against men but loves them less sexually than women do. I am now in my 15th year locked. I cheated once by pulling out after 5 months of denial and another time 8 years ago using a swab stick. Very easy to orgasm after months of denial. And yes, I did cheat about a dozen times over the 20 years on the honor system. It was much easier then since I was having threesomes 4-5 times a week and allowed to cum while under sexual pain a few nights each week. Check out Kink3D FAQ and others who clearly state that you can pull out of any ball trap cage, so self control is needed. Not a big problem if you are having sex once or twice a day and getting orgasms. A bigger issue when your Domme is trying to wean you off all orgasms. Just wanted to insert some reality; anyone who knows Tom Allen would agree that going long periods without an orgasm requires lots of self control, not only by the wearer but also by a loving key holder. Just as a wedding ring does not prevent cheating on your spouse, so it is for chastity cages. Self control is the only real method.

Will be interesting to see how this device works. I am hoping my KH will prescribe different cages from time to time the way you do for Herb. It’s a really cool dimension in your chastity play. I’ll get this device and probably be directed to try it right away. I think she will appreciate the 2cm compared to the 5cm Jail Bird I have now! It will be like going from a palace to a one bedroom flat (well it will nearly be a flat cage).

I asked HoD about that and only the hinged ring is compatible. They did say they would talk to their suppliers about making a solid ring available, as all the cages of this size or smaller seem to come with just the hinged option. As my wife is already talking about the next jump I've been looking at flats, and can only find more open styles which she prefers that have a hinge. However I've now worn the 2cm version with a hinge for a week and it's been fine.

My experience of the last week is exactly the same. The only thing I would add is waking up a few times some nights straining to expand and absolutely nowhere to go. But that's got less as the week has progressed. I only dropped from 3cm to 2cm and that was a bit of a shock, more so than when I was moved from 5cm to 3cm.

As of last night, I'm back in the S160 from House of Denial. As *@Spaceman* says "straining to expand and absolutely nowhere to go". Only had 5 nights in the Cobra and now back to this!

I use the Baby sized Viper cage from Kink3D. No problems with falling out. In fact, after 25 years of wearing very small cages daily I have never fallen out of a cage. In fact, smaller cages make pulling out much more difficult. Also pay attention to the width because the wider the cage the easier it is to pull out I had a very small cage that was not barrow. I could stick my finger all the way into it when wearing it. Easy to pull out. However, what few admit about chastity cages is that you can orgasm in any model. Just watch porn. A vibrator will make you orgasm as well inserting a swab into an opening and jerking off with that. The reality is that self control is needed most quit chastity after a few weeks. I spent 20 years on the honor system and 15 years locked in a cage except for medical reasons and a two week break each year. I could orgasm in any of the 20+ cages I owned one way or another. My point is no matter what you buy or its size, if you want to orgadm you can in someway. Do not think it is the cage that keeps you orgasm free, it is self control. Just ask Tom as I have followed him since before there were forums like this. This is why most on the community disappear in a month or so. If you are expecting a cage to prevent you from having orgasms, you are wrong. They are no more effective than wedding bands preventing cheating on your wives. At best they are speed bumps to give you time to reflect on what you are about to do. On the other hand if you have sex daily and lots of orgasms while playing chastity, it is a moot point since there is no extended orgasm denial periods. Few go months between orgasms. It took me years to get to that point. In 15 years I pulled out once and used a swab once to orgasm but that was because my wife had major surgery and was bedridden for months. My point is to get a cage that is comfortable to wear 24/7/365 as you can orgasm in any cage despite the porn fiction you read. For gosh sake you can watch porn and see how men orgasm while locked. Vibrators work great, Ansley is good and unless your penis is very long, pulling out is easy.as is sticking something in a cage opening and jerking off with it. So go fr comfort as that is what stops many from wearing a cage.

> Vinny51 wrote: ↑Wed Dec 18, 2024 2:07 pm > My point is to get a cage that is comfortable to wear 24/7/365 The folks at Mature Metal helped me do that 18 months ago. The Jail Bird is so perfectly sized to my anatomy. I’ve gone 30 days no removal to clean or for any other reason. So it’s solid. Since Feb 17 I’ve been locked in the JB 95 percent of the time. Not as long as some here but maybe not bad for a newbie either. The custom cage does help. However a cage change as part of the ongoing chastity play is fun too. It’s great to have one that is perfect but also to have models that my key holder wants to put me in for whatever reason she wants. A bigger one or a smaller one or a different color or whatever. I also need at least one plastic one that I can use for metal detectors once every couple months in my work world. The scanners are more sensitive than airport detectors and I don’t want my work world to know why they are triggered when the wand passes over my groin. Sorry to the OP, if this thread has taken a turn and discussion isn’t helpful. I’ll stop now. One thing I would say about pull out and cage shortness is that with a shorter cage it probably takes more time being alone hiding in the bathroom, to pull out, jerk off, and re-insert without getting noticed. A longer one may be easier to do that quickly. I have such little free time I don’t think I could get alone long enough. Also because a change in my behavior would be noticed from the post orgasm drop. But also ease of escape depends on gap between cage and base ring. So it’s all about experimenting. Just have fun with it and embrace the journey with long short metal plastic custom and off the shelf. FWIW.

member_ba19d2296a 7 Sept 2026 #25

Taking this further as its been indicated a flat might be on the cards, but a urethral tube is not happening, so thinking of a barred flat, like this ... l-hod-s154. Which should enable peeing without mess as well as cleaning. Not going there yet but kind of preparing my brain if the command comes about. I do now know that escape / falling out is perversely more difficult in a shorter cage, not that I have any wish to escape, I find i'm very compliant nowadays.

member_e33d73df19 8 Sept 2026 #26

Got to admit. I do like the look of that one. I do have the uretheral for peeing whilst standing and hygene, its only a short one with these. but it is nice to be able to shower and use a hair dryer to dry off. This has enough gapage to do that where as mine doesn't so is more dificultto clean and dry.

member_485d8a696f 8 Sept 2026 #27

I would like to go smaller. Currently I'm on the HoD S107 Small, that actually isn't particularly small for me. With the S99 Small I have the problem, that nightly erections pull everything really far away from my body. The S99 then sits like a small cap on my tip, the shaft is bent. Neither sexy nor unpainful. Obviously I need to use a string. Many experiments did reveal that I need a 3 point string/harness. What kind of strings do you use? Do you wear it 24/7 or only in the nights? And what after showering, when it's wet? Soft leather would be nice but I'ncerned about the leather dyes that might dye my skin, when wet.

member_3bf39bf3fe 9 Sept 2026 #28

Not being an expert, but based on your description of the problem you are having, you might want to try a smaller ring. I was having a problem like what you described, and a smaller ring resolved my issue. Might be easier to live with than a string or belt.
