Lock performance in pool, ocean, shower, and water

Here is an answer to that question which pops up occasionally: Yes, you can definitely wear your cage while showering, swimming in a pool, or even out at sea. However… Many affordable Chinese cages come equipped with rather poor quality brass barrel locks. If you buy one of these and plan to keep it long-term, do yourself a good turn by ordering a proper barrel lock from Burg Wachter - specifically model ME/2. You can also find them on the Holy Trainer site and at several other retailers. Other makers produce them too, though I don’t recall their names. The cheap locks will literally disintegrate. I have witnessed this happen multiple times. The quality ones handle exposure to water without issue. I just got back from a two-week beach vacation where I was caged the whole time. Each day involved hours in either the ocean or pool, plus two showers daily. By the last day, I unlocked it before heading to the airport with no trouble at all. Oh, and BTW: * the lock is eight years old.* Same one. Occasionally I add a drop of silicone lube and move the key back and forth through the mechanism. That’s basically maintenance done. So yes; swimming with your cage is fine, and getting the lock wet poses no problem. But if you plan to do this over the long term, invest in a higher grade key-compatible lock assembly.

I am one with the Nub…. The Holy Trainer V5 has the”Click & Lock” tubular cam pin lock, which seems a very solid design. While experimenting with knock off devices to check the fit I ran across several locks that were prone to mechanical failure. I’ve had no problems at all with the Swiss made **lock** but the failures of the generic devices made me wonder if these might be prone to jamming or possibly getting a grain of debris inside the mechanism. This may be a topic for a different thread, but wondering if anyone has ever had a failure of this lock type from exposure to waterborne grit?

On the longer "sure it looks cool, you can wear it" side I had a CB-X PA 5000. Yes, I do have a PA piercing done long time ago. But the damn **lock** was totally stuck, when I finally got a **key** to my hand... I tryed WD-40, something else ad WD-40... It remained stuck for a week until I found a good quality side cutters and was able to cut the plastic pin/hook (pin from cage thru PA-piercing) under my wiener. It could have been worse, if they would have made that cage better and that pin/hook would have been stainless steel. -Maybe needless to say, that it was one experience. **Key**s in my hand after couple of months, wife waiting in the bedroom... But, after we were sure that this "CB-X PA-5000" was stuck, we did had a one of best sex I ever had. -Even I was stuck in cage! 8-)
