Hygiene and Discretion

I want to begin by noting that I am a newcomer to male chastity. Last week, my first device arrived—a CB6000S. Regarding the unit itself, it has worked without issue for me so far. The two-inch ring fits somewhat tightly; I wish they had included a 2 1/8 inch option as well. I’m unsure if that would have been too loose, but I’d have liked to test it. However, there are two aspects that bother me. First is hygiene. I know I am still learning the ropes, yet keeping clean feels more cumbersome than I prefer. Second is concealment. The plastic locks offer better discretion than the traditional master lock design. To hide mine effectively, I need to wear a jockstrap along with very loose shorts. If my wife and I decide to stick with this setup—and we are both happy so far—we will likely need to find an improved device relatively soon. So, what do you consider the top devices for easy hygiene and discreetness? The wisdom of those who have experience would be much appreciated.

I’m certain you will receive more replies soon from others who started with CB-x000 devices before moving on. From my reading, metal units tend to be easier to conceal because there is less material hiding underneath. Additionally, their open designs facilitate better cleaning. These are the reasons (along with reviews I’ve seen) that led me to order a Mature Metal Queen's Keep. For maximum discretion, a full belt might work well, but you do sacrifice some of that hygiene factor you’re seeking.

I’m currently wearing a CB6000S. It’s been on for twelve days without taking it off at all. I haven’t had any issues with concealment whatsoever. During my first week, I wore it to work in flat-front dress pants over briefs and it looked good; nights and weekends see me in boxers and shorts. Today I’m back in the dress pants with boxers, and you really can't tell. My point? Everyone’s body is different, and devices react differently depending on your build. As for hygiene, that has been fine too. I did order the recommended swabs from the "CB6000S Long term" thread I started, and they help significantly. I don’t see myself needing to remove it ever just for cleanliness reasons, though I am spending considerable time ensuring it stays dry and clean.

Thanks for the replies; they make me feel my two concerns are linked. I am currently using the 2-inch ring. There are no circulation issues, but there isn't much wiggle room either. It’s comfortable, yet harder to clean around. This setup also pushes everything forward. The bulge doesn’t bother me, but I do mind seeing the outline of the lock protruding. I have seen steel models with security screws and like that concept.

It wasn’t so obtrusive or noticeable. Even though it can be cut easily, there’s no way to hide it if you snip it and replace it with another numbered one. She would enter the specific number of her lock into her cell phone each time.

Did you order the security screw option for your MM Queen's Keep that is on its way? If so, let us know how it works out.

I have the "higher security" screw on my Queen's Keep. It gives a much lower, neater profile, and according to MM, the key isn't available for purchase online. The threads are cut quite tightly—I initially tried putting it on without the key and found it very difficult; you need the key to align the threads properly. The advantage is that it creates a solid connection between the ring and cage when torqued up. From a security standpoint, I’m not sure if pliers could remove it yet—I haven’t tested—but it would definitely be hard work and likely damage the screw head. I have been continuously locked for nearly three weeks now, and the screw hasn't loosened at all. Also, hygiene has posed no problems. I am uncut, but can clean under the foreskin by pushing it back with a Q-tip, then using soap spray and the showerhead. It takes about 3 minutes in the morning. MUCH easier and cleaner than my CB3K, which got quite mucky after a few days and required removal for a thorough wash. I wore the CB3K 24/7 for a long time and it didn't show much under clothing—the QK is smaller and even less noticeable (if at all). However, the cage on mine is only 1 3/4 inches long.

This website also offers a "Reusable plastic lock" compatible with CBXXXX models: It works somewhat like the high security screw setup for those models. It features a barrel that goes over the pin, along with a screwed-in pin and key. The profile is much lower and it eliminates the rattle of traditional locks.

jeank Thank you for the info. The security screw option seems like a solid choice. I’ve looked at MM products and feel that either the Pet Trap or the Watchful Mistress might be less noticeable because they don’t have bars welded around the outside of the cage—I’m not entirely sure, just seeking input. I’ve also seen those who wear MM products mention that vertical urination is possible, especially if you get them to modify the cage for it. This would suit me well since I am often outdoors with friends and squatting isn't always feasible without giving away information I’d prefer to keep private. gungadn Thanks for the link. I’ll show this to my wife tonight and get her thoughts. It might serve as a short-term solution until we figure out other options.

CuriousDud, One thing to note is that your anatomy "stretches" significantly during the first couple of months of wearing a CB. I found myself adjusting the gap on my CB3K three or four times as my body adapted, so it might be worth waiting before ordering a custom device since they aren't adjustable in the same way—you want your body to settle down before deciding on size. For cleaning with the CB3K, I used a squeeze bottle to push antibacterial soap solution up through the end and then rinsed with the showerhead each morning, though I still needed to remove it for a good wash every 4-5 days. I haven't worn the MM WM or Pet Trap myself, but they don’t look as easy to keep clean as the open cage models. It might be best to get a comment from someone who actually wears one—it may be easier than I think. Regarding concealability, I wear jeans and/or slacks to work daily and it really doesn't show.

Thanks for the advice on waiting a while. As for washing, my wife doesn’t mind me unlocking to wash every day, so I manage, though it can be annoying for her at times. The WM seems pretty open; I was hoping someone who wears one would chime in.
