Smooth Fellows... Got any suggestions for us?

I’ve taken my CB6000s off for roughly a month now, mostly to let an annoying rash on my penis heal. It’s cleared up, but during that time I stopped shaving my shaft and balls because the ring made barber’s itch worse. I decided to see how it felt wearing the cage with trimmed pubic hair instead of being completely smooth.
Over the last few days, I’ve worn the cage for different lengths of time while reacquainting myself with it. Honestly, I don’t care for having hair there no matter how short I keep it cut. The cage seems to tug at it at the most inconvenient moments. Also, CH mentioned that she really prefers her scrotum feeling cleanly shaved.
Does anyone have tips on avoiding barber’s itch? Or if you do get it, what helps minimize the discomfort? By the way, waxing is off the table for me—I’m quite a wimp about that sort of thing.
I’ve missed being locked in and want to return to wearing my CB full-time. Since I went eight weeks without an orgasm last time, staying unlocked has been somewhat risky at times.
Thanks ahead of time for any guidance. Harry
I shave every three to four days. I use a top-notch five-blade razor along with Nivea Sensitive shaving foam. I’ve found that any pubic hair is a hassle when wearing the cage. CQ, like your CH, absolutely adores the feel of a shaved scrotum; she can’t stand the idea of me not being smooth. I don’t use aftershave balms or lotions, but perhaps some skincare creams formulated for sensitive skin could be helpful? Regards, CQ's
Give a peeling soap a try after shaving. It removes the dead skin particles that tend to build up in the roots of freshly cut hair and cause various issues there. It helped me significantly with avoiding razor bumps. K
Thank you... I do use a Schick Hydro five-blade and replace it regularly. I’ve experimented with both sensitive skin shaving cream and a rich body wash, and they seem to produce similar results. I’ll test out some soothing aftershave lotions as well as the peeling soap. BTW, where can one buy that?? I suspect it’s likely at my local pharmacy in the women's skincare section. Am I right? Thanks again, Harry
I can’t specify exactly which peeling soaps are available in the US; I only know the brands here in Austria and Germany. However, anything with a peeling component that works on your lovely wife’s facial skin should do the job. Just ask her—maybe she’ll even let you use one of hers:) K PS My wife taught me this trick, and she learned it from a male coworker.
I prefer standard Dove moisturizing bars. I get fewer razor burns and less nicks with them. The Gillette Venus three-blade seems to work best for me too. I’ve also noticed that shaving regularly (every two or three days) is much better than every four or five days. Your body seems to adapt to it.
I’ve had great success with Nair 3 & 1, which I use across my entire pubic region including the scrotum. Image

That must be the battery acid you accidentally stored in that Nair bottle...:-) I have to say that any cream capable of dissolving hair isn’t going on my balls....
Glad I stick with trimmed rather than fully shaved! Doesn't sound very comfortable at all.
It’s an interesting thing. I have no issue with clean-shaven balls. But when I shave the abdomen, it gets really bad. So now I shave the balls and trim the surrounding area. I’m going to try that peeling soap idea.

The last time I tried something like that, I was red and rashy for a week. I’ve never had an issue with burning. I follow the directions EXACTLY - don’t rub it in & rinse well after 7 minutes. I used a rough cloth & the hair just magically disappears & because I did not shave there is no issue with an itchy regrowth. Nair 3 & 1 for sensitive skin rocks!!

That happened to me too. The scrotum and penis root did just fine, but the abdomen and thighs bloomed with razor bumps. When using the peeling soap, it's much better. And after shaving quite often, the skin seems to adjust. K
Thanks everyone... I picked up some Gillette Fusion Thermal Face Scrub that scrubs away dead skin and other debris. It also heats as it’s applied, feels great, and really softens the hair too. I found some Nivea aftershave balm that soothes nicely once I’m finished. I use both on my face as well, and shaving feels better there too. Regarding Nair and similar hair-dissolving products, I tried a couple, but they weren’t very effective in the problem areas where stubble seems impossible to remove completely. I ran into the same issue Tom did: if left on long enough to work properly, it burned my balls as well. I’m shaving every three days now and that gives me the best balance between smoothness and comfort.
My entire body has EXTREMELY sensitive skin. I have to use unscented laundry soap and double-rinse all my clothes. The only antiperspirant I can tolerate is Speed Stick unscented. I stick to unscented dryer sheets too. It might sound extreme, but my sensitivity is real. My wife didn’t always believe me initially; she’d sometimes buy scented detergents or dryer sheets. About five years ago, we were broke and had no choice but to use regular soaps and detergents for nearly two weeks. I ended up in the hospital with peeling skin and blisters all over my body. It was very painful in my groin area and armpits. It took a month and lots of steroid cream to heal. Now my wife understands how sensitive my skin truly is. She buys separate laundry soap and dryer sheets for herself and the kids. Since I wash and dry our clothes, I make sure mine are washed separately using unscented hypoallergenic products. The only body soap I’ve ever been able to use is Caress bar soaps—not the liquid kind. The good old-fashioned bars. I use this for everything: washing myself, shaving my face, and shaving my balls/cock area. I use Gillette Sensor razors and replace them every week. Using a dull razor is arguably the worst thing you can do to yourself.
Thanks again for your advice, KPB57... Mrs. Haversackers thanks you as well. It’s been two weeks since I resumed shaving and it has gone smoothly. The thermal scrub and aftershave balm have made a significant difference. No barber's itch at all. In fact, there hasn’t been any irritation whatsoever, and I’ve been back in my CB6Ks for a week now. I’m only out of the cage for my evening shower and shave (shaving every third night). I might switch to removing the device on alternate evenings and get back into using swabs and squirt bottles. In the long run, an SS cage will become essential if I want to eliminate removal altogether. The best part is that my wife is happy with everything. She loves fondling and kissing my smooth nuts, and she enjoys seeing me locked up.
I recently bought a Braun Silk Epil epilator out of frustration with having to shave every few days. I keep shaved from the neck down, which takes quite some time if done regularly. I tried the epilator for the first time last night and the good news is that the results are basically identical to waxing. The bad news is that in areas with thicker hair, it does smart a bit. But if it behaves like waxing, it won’t be nearly as painful next time, especially if used regularly.
