Hi everyone, is there anyone here using an MM device that features a security screw? If so, I’d love to hear your thoughts or any insights you’ve gathered. We’re getting fed up with snapping the mickey mouse ears off our CB6k base rings and are considering switching to an MM device myself. The security screw option has caught my interest, but I’m curious about others’ experiences. -Wendy

It's great to see you back, Wendy. I own one too. While I appreciate how streamlined it is compared to the traditional lock, it hasn't always made me feel completely secure. With a standard setup, cutting off the lock was something my partner would notice right away. However, that isn't an issue with the security screw approach. Have you looked at devices from? Their built-in locks are quite sleek and reliable. That said, their design philosophy differs significantly from MM's. -A

I also use the MM security screw. My partner was concerned about verification as well. We opted for the device with an added plastic lock hole. Initially, we felt it was a bit pricey, around $50 extra. Looking back, though, I believe she prefers the plastic lock and that additional cost was justified. When I first received my device, MM had forgotten to include the necessary threading for the screws. I tested it using a padlock instead and quickly realized that sticking with the security screws provided by MM is definitely the better choice. One thing to note: on an MM device, the lock rests on its side. My partner didn't care for the appearance of this position, nor did I enjoy how it felt in my trousers.

I'm not a fan of the built-in lock choices. I prefer keeping my own key for emergencies. Belle can spot if it's been messed with, and even though I've never had to use that option, it gives me comfort. Also, in case of a medical issue, it feels better knowing they could just snip the lock off rather than removing the whole device. One small slip and my chastity cage is history.

I own a MM Queen's Keep and I really enjoy it (that’s for another thread). Mine came with the standard security screw rather than the high-security version. The screw is definitely less bulky and more streamlined than wearing a padlock. From a security perspective, the driver head isn't common—I have plenty of drivers but don't currently own a torx bit with that specific security hole (which these are), so only the two MM-supplied drivers can release me. One will go into a lock-box known to my wife; the other goes into a sealed envelope. Because they're uncommon, those drivers act just like a key. The one thing I miss about the padlock is its symbolism. Having that metal clasp above my dicklet really feels securely locked down.

Thanks for the input. It's been a while since I last checked in (busy life, right?). We considered Steelworks devices, but neither of us was particularly drawn to them. On the other hand, I really like how MM devices look (Mr. Allen and I might disagree on the handmade aesthetic, though he’s correct about interchangeable parts being convenient). If we go with a screw, it would be the high-security type. Not that I doubt Jake (formerly J, but we already have another J here), he mentioned feeling more 'locked' if it wasn't something easily bought at any store. An extra hole for the plastic lock is excellent! We’ve used those several times with the CB6k (it came with a few spares) and liked tagging him that way. It also means I can use my other idea regarding those plastic tags. MikeyLikes, I’d love your thoughts on the Queen's Keep. We’re considering it. Jake wonders if the bar is more or less comfortable than the ring.

My KH wanted me to mention that she prefers the lock and key. She’s been told it’s easier to install than a screw and quicker to remove as well. It doesn’t show much under clothes, though she can feel it against her back when spooning in bed.

Hi everyone, We have the Jail Bird. We use a small padlock with an extra 'tagging' hole. She loves it! We also drilled through one of the spikes so we can place a tag between the cage and the spike. She has total control over how long everything stays put and knows if anyone tampers. It’s all about accountability and her peace of mind. Boater38

I’ve been offline for a few days so missed this discussion. I have the Queens Keep with the 'higher' security screw. Working in engineering, I’m unsure where to find a replacement driver (the standard torx used on the lower security option is available at most hardware stores). The advantage of the screw is that it holds the device very solidly compared to the slight play you get with a lock. Inserting it hasn’t been difficult at all—not harder than using a lock. The extra hole in the longer locking post lets you use either another small lock or those plastic tags. Regarding the Queen's Keep, it is the most comfortable device I’ve used. Definitely recommend it as long as you are okay with not removing it for hygiene over long periods. There’s really no limit to how long your KH can keep you locked if she wants, say 1 3/4 inches of length for a few weeks while being playful.

My understanding is that the high-security screws are individually crafted along with their drivers (so they aren't interchangeable or available elsewhere), though MM should confirm this. The plastic tag added as an extra works perfectly for proving long-term wear. However, I haven’t used the device myself.

It’s been about a year since we got Ab's Watchful Mistress with the screw, so my memory is a bit fuzzy on details, but I’ll try to be accurate... As I recall, our couple was among the first to 'discover' choosing between the screw and lock options. Not sure if we have the 'higher' security version or not; I think we do. However, this summer he bought himself a new screw (with a thumb nut) at the hardware store, so now he doesn’t even need the little screwdriver that came with the device. Our setup is somewhat different from many couples due to our longstanding agreement: he can take his device off daily for bathing and napping. During this free time, there’s no touching and no orgasms. Given that arrangement, he has always had access to either a key or screwdriver. Now it’s easy enough for him to put it on or remove it himself. I trust him not to orgasm (and I know he isn’t). This might not work for every couple. That said, I much prefer the streamlined look of the screw compared to having a lock attached to an MM device. D

My latest device is a Jailbird with the MM Security Screw and I like it. We don’t have trust issues, so I carry the screwdriver on my keychain. It’s nice because it doesn't clank when I walk like the lock did. Anyone at work probably wouldn't notice or would assume they’re just my keys in my pocket, but I could hear it and it bothered me.

And the plastic tag as an extra is perfect for providing evidence of long-term wear. But I've not used the device myself. I’ve now discovered they actually *are* compatible. The same key fits all security screws across different belts. Key-Rex makes individual security screws for vanilla use but apparently won't deal with MM because of what they sell themselves. Pity, really. These could be perfect.

I’ve had a JB without the security screw for a couple of years. I recently bought a WM with the security screw and liked it so much better than the locking option that I sent my JB back to be threaded for the screw. The sleeker profile is great, and how solidly the screw holds everything together.

I did some digging a while back to find a security screw suitable for my stainless devices. The ones from Bryce fasteners would be secure, but if they sold them directly to the general public (which they don’t), the cost would be prohibitive. Most of the readily available options I found are Torx with a pin in the middle. They keep casual vandals or thieves at bay because most people won't have that specific bit on hand nor bother buying one. I found these bits at Home Depot, Lowes, and Harbor Freight. The screws themselves are available on eBay in stainless steel. As always, real security is between your ears. I just gave my wife any of the compatible bits I had. Modifying the pin ring to accept a security screw is straightforward. Drill out the hole with a cobalt bit for the right size and thread it with a good tap. Cobalt is necessary because the stainless steel used here is quite tough, likely 316 grade. I went with a 10-32 screw, though an 8-32 might be better.

I have the security screws and they do work themselves loose after a few days. They also stick out from the opposite side of the head so you can unscrew them with pliers. I wouldn't pay extra for it again. The lock works well and stays securely in place.

member_c5a7c75d7b 1 Sept 2026 #20

lockedsteve - Interesting. Mine has never worked loose and only protrudes a tiny bit—certainly not enough to grab with pliers. The screw is 3/8" long. Did you buy yours quite some time ago? Before I bought my WM with the security screw (just last May), I emailed M MM about it. She mentioned they had experienced issues but believed those were resolved now, so I took a chance. So far, so good. If you email her regarding your problem, she might send you a replacement screw.

We have the security screw. I find it has quite a few benefits. One is that the cage is much more stable with no play between the cage and base ring. It’s also slimmer, so there’s never an issue with visibility under clothing. If tightened properly, it is secure. Of course, since I requested enforced chastity, why would I try to escape?

member_208ad55e4c 2 Sept 2026 #22

Hubby really needs to write that blog post about the security screws. Our screws don't stick out the other side much and wouldn't be grabbable by anything. However, after a few days, it will wiggle backward a thread or two, which hubby just tightens with his fingers. To avoid this backing-out issue, we clean the screw threads to remove body oils and gunk. I use some rubbing alcohol to keep the screw snug. We still prefer the screw over the lock because I don't have to worry about bulkiness or it hurting me if I want to rub against the cage while driving hubby crazy!:)

member_641b2ad8ff 2 Sept 2026 #23

We use an inexpensive ultrasonic jewelry cleaner to keep both the screw and cage clean. We had exactly the same loosening issue until we got that machine.

Good to know. Thanks LM and TL.

My first JB from MM came with the security screw. I used it alongside a lock for a while—I admit that was easier to take on and off—but the stick-out of the lock made it rattle, which my wife disliked when we cuddled at night. When starting out, I ordered both 1&3/4" rings as well as 1&5/8" ones. I started with the larger ring for about two months before transitioning to the smaller one, which I wore for roughly a year. After that year in the 1&5/8" ring, it was getting loose on me. Recently, I transitioned to a new double-ring of size 1&9/16". With all three rings, I haven't had issues with the screw coming loose. Both Lady M and Tame Lion indicated they solved the loose screw problem by cleaning the threads. If that doesn’t work, a small piece of Teflon plumber's tape on the screw should fix it. Other posts in this topic mention the screw can be removed with other tools. On my original JB, I could have likely used pliers or vice grips to grab the exposed head. There’s an option for a countersunk screw head which prevents grabbing. You specify which side of the device you want the head on; that side has a hole sized so the screw head ends up flush against the post. My second JB (smaller diameter and cage length) came with this counter-sunk hole. Both cages, with or without the counter-sunk option, are secure and don't rotate on the post. As 'Tame Lion' said: > Of course, since I asked for enforced chastity, why would I try to escape? I couldn’t agree more. If this is your first custom cage, I suggest trying the sizing rings to get both cage diameter and ring size right initially. I moved from a CB6ks to the JB using those sizes as reference. Using the sizing rings before ordering my second cage certainly helped me be more certain about what to order. Both Mistress M and William at MM are very helpful with pre-order questions.

member_d989573af5 3 Sept 2026 #26

Forgot to mention: if you get the countersunk security screw, you cannot use a lock with it; you must stick to the screw.

I’ve spoken with them about it and they have solutions, but when I sent my ring back for resizing along with a note asking them to address the screw issue, it came back with the same screw. It looks like they tried countersinking the head, but after 2-3 days it worked loose again as LadyM described. I do tighten it by hand since our focus isn't purely on security but more on orgasm denial.

I have an SS .44 mag revolver that has issues with screws loosening up; a bit of clear nail polish cures it.

member_4f702ebca4 5 Sept 2026 #29

Same as TwistedMister. I clean the screw and apply a coat of clear nail polish to the threads, keeping it nice and tight.

member_2f7ace5210 5 Sept 2026 #30

Screw (or rather a bolt or Clevis pin) with a security seal for me. It’s easily removed in an emergency yet obvious if tampered with.

member_7ee75665a3 6 Sept 2026 #31

Lockedsteve I also had the screw come loose. The only thing I’ve found that prevents this is wrapping the screw several times with Teflon tape.

member_fc32bae7d8 6 Sept 2026 #32

I use a drop of blue Loctite thread locker on the security screw threads. It removes easily with hand tools but prevents backing out from vibration.
