I have discovered a method to tackle the common issue of hot spots and chafing caused by the rivet on the CB3000 ring.
After spending a week observing the ring, I determined why this happens specifically there. In my view, it is partly because the rivet sits above the plastic, which changes shape from the round curve of the main ring to that 90-degree angle at the rivet point.
You need some skill to fix it properly, so be careful and think through your steps before you begin. Here is how I fixed mine:
- Drill out the stock rivet
- Counter sink the holes on both sides of the rivet
- Round off the square edges to match the rest of the ring
- Install a new rivet
Please note that you must go slowly when drilling and counter sinking because the plastic breaks very easily.
Before doing this, I could only wear it for short periods… which kind of defeats the purpose in chastity play.
Needless to say, none of us should have to put up with so much work just to make an $180 product function correctly. I have already written A L Ent to let them know there is a fix for their product. Take care all and have fun. Steve
It is easier, though perhaps less elegant, to simply place a rubber sleeve over the rivet. My CB3K hinged ring eventually broke right at the rivet site, which led me to switch to an "open top" design. You can find details in my thread on CB3K Mods and photos in my album. It takes some effort too, but results in a product that is more secure, durable, and comfortable.
**Yeah I tried that too** I tried it as well, but it seemed to make the situation worse. I have a high, tight, and large sack, which I think is mostly responsible for my issues. Thanks for the feedback. Steve
I experienced too many problems like this with the CB3000. I switched to the CB6000 and have been locked in for almost 60 days now without any issues. I came out on Christmas Day and hope to go back in today. Good luck.
the solid rings from the cb-2000 also can be used with the 3000 and can be purchased separately.
i use the ring from the 6k and drilled out the cage of both the 2 and 3- with using the spacers works great
