I’m interested in how seasoned users here make use of their profiles. I’ve only been around for a couple of days and have tweaked my profile almost daily. It’s already doubled in size since I joined (the profile…:-) ).
So, mine is always evolving, likely because I’m a bit of a tinkerer by nature (again… the profile!:-) ). How about you all? Do you keep updating, or do you prefer to craft a perfect profile and stick with it? Does more content always mean better (the… well, you get my drift)? Or is there value in keeping the profile as an invitation for others to start talking?
I think it really depends on what works best for you. It's nice to complete your details when you join so people can learn about you faster. The more info you provide, the better other members feel about exchanging messages and such. I actually wonder if those who block others from seeing their profiles are doing themselves a disservice? What is the point unless they have something to hide, and if that's true, why bother joining at all? Updating your profile is quite handy (if you find the time), since we all evolve our opinions and expectations over time. Thanks for bringing this up.
Oddly enough, I rarely notice much of a profile around here...
There is quite a bit to read now. Would you care to share more about that impressive helmet? Xx wendy
Ellen, there is certainly much more content in his profile if you check under the information button than what appears even on yours.:)
Well I, for one, think Ellen has a very impressive profile. Outstanding, in fact.
oh i agree with that perception! but perhaps not when it comes to the written form! lol
@Wendygirl: I spotted the helmet while browsing ebay and my finger must have slipped on the 'buy' button:) It's made of heavy leather with straps and lace-ups at the back, which creates a very enclosed sensation. Even with the eye covers in place, it is hard to see much through the pinholes. The zip serves mainly as decoration; you still need a separate gag underneath the hood.
