Does anyone have ideas on whether the webmaster should set up SSL for the CM site to help stop traffic monitoring? This is a trend that’s growing more common among communication providers these days.
Generally speaking, I like https better than http. However, I'm not sure it's really necessary for this site since most of the content is accessible without logging in... (Though yes, using SSL would be helpful for profile settings.)
Any data passing through and the entire web page contents can be monitored, recorded, and analyzed by network providers covering everything from your computer to the server hosting this website.
That seems a *bit* paranoid... I believe the main issue is higher server costs. Plus, it's already annoying that www and no-www versions create separate sessions;-)
