About a month back, I was heading home from work and texting my KH. She mentioned she had quite a few sexual fantasies, some of which she’d forgotten. I told her to jot them down. She wanted to keep her nosy sub (me) and our 15-year-old from peeking inside by using a lockable book like a diary. At first, she said she’d hunt for a nice black one with a key, but then she changed her mind and asked me to find it for her. Her final instruction was simple: don’t come home without it.

I stopped at several bookstores on the way back but couldn’t spot any with locks. I called around to everyone I could think of, but nothing like that existed in town, and there wasn’t enough time to order one online. In the end, I bought a black leather diary without a lock. Once home, I headed to my workshop to see what I could rig up for a locking mechanism.

I collected some copper and leather scraps and crafted a hasp. For the actual lock, I used the old wolf dog from my first device. After polishing it and having her initial (K) engraved on it, I gave it to her when she walked in; she was thrilled. It had gone into the drawer earlier because we got our Queens Keep at that time and the lock seemed too small then.

These days, most people use an iPad or Kindle for their diaries and journals. Since they’re password protected, there are no prying eyes around. I think that’s exactly why you struggled to find a lockable journal; the market for physical ones has shrunk. :) What’s next, separate cell phones and cameras?:)
