Hi all, I’m wondering if this is a good spot to ask, so sorry in advance for any repetition and my somewhat detailed question. I don’t know much about fashion terminology, especially the specific names for different styles.

I saw a picture recently (with musician Miss FD) of an ensemble that really caught my eye, and I’d love to hear if anyone knows what this dress is called (both in terms of cut/style and fabric). I’m pretty sure it’s a full dress, though some might argue it’s a skirt paired with a separate top—the corset part makes the distinction tricky. If I can find something similar, I think I’d wear it to one of the local fetish clubs. So far, only two outfits have made it out there: a short stretch canvas dress and a leather-look mini skirt teamed with an overbust corset plus satin gloves.

You could describe it as either an "A-line pleated skirt" or a "Tutu." I suspect the top part is separate from the bottom, just like the bra. The corset appears to be an "underbust" type with steel boning, and looking at the picture closely, it seems to be made of either Taffeta or leather—it's hard to say for sure.

I don't know much about fashion, but I absolutely love the dress and how she wears it.

@tiemeupalso saying you know little about fashion is actually a polite way of putting your expertise! Your judgment seems spot on. @Yosho I'd recommend starting with Hell Bunny fashions. Yes, the corset is indeed separate. Xx Wendy

@Mascara^Snake Thanks for the input! I'll look into line pleated skirts and tutus as a starting point. The material and style of this corset seem nearly identical to my main underbust one (a simple design from Corsets UK, although they've rebranded to Corset Story UK now), so that part is covered. @tiemeupalso I definitely agree with your assessment; it's a great look:) (I hope to recreate something similar) @Wendygirl Thanks for the suggestion. I'll check out Hell Bunny fashions.

Ask @jemima about ironing pleats; she is an expert. Xx Wendy
