Lately my instant messenger has been getting flooded with folks who don’t catch the hint and keep being persistently annoying. To put it simply, they’re guys who are so driven by lust they can’t figure out when to quit. A few people I look up to here have dealt with this too, and I believe there’s an easy fix: temporary IM blocking. It’s true you can just ignore someone, but having my chat bubble ping 50 times while I’m working in another tab is incredibly annoying. That might have sounded more like a vent than serious advice…

Try to view it as a good sign that you've sparked enough interest in them for them to really want your attention. It shows they not only accept you but also desire you. With that said, now that they’ve hopefully seen this thread, I expect they’ll dial back their intensity and show more respect. ~
