Mature Metal discussion

I own a custom-made Mature Metal Jail Bird chastity device that was precisely measured and fits perfectly, passing all MM sizing checks while flaccid. Still, the contents inside the cage tend to swell steadily during the night, pushing out through the gaps and dragging the base ring ahead of it. This creates a persistent, almost unbearable burning sensation at the bottom of my scrotum. I can handle the pressure from the swelling itself, but that sharp skin burn where the base ring pulls forward needs addressing.

Has anyone dealt with this? What do you think is the best solution? Should I increase the gap size from 3/8” to 1/2”? Swap out the single base ring for a double one? Try a wider base ring? (Right now, it meets MM sizing standards.) Go with a longer cage? Currently, just the tip of my flaccid contents reaches the end. Opt for a wider cage? The sides currently brush against the walls. Send the base ring back to have the metal smoothed out? Is there another fix altogether? Maybe a mix of these options?

Start by applying a thick night moisturizer to lubricate the ring right before you go to sleep. Vaseline (petroleum jelly) is another option, though it might make your sheets a little greasy. If that doesn't do the trick, consider switching to either a double base-ring or one with more width.
