I’m considering switching from my CB 6000 to the MM Jailbird shortly. With my current setup, I use a 2” base ring with a 3/8” gap, which fits quite well overall. The first thing is that the CB 6000 has both a shaft section and then a slightly wider area for the head of the penis. Usually this works fine, but sometimes the head gets stuck right where the tube widens as I move around. My solution is to pop in a cotton swab into the slot and pull it down properly. I suspect that’s due to how the CB tube is designed, so I shouldn’t have that issue with the Jailbird. Has anyone else dealt with this? My second annoyance is that occasionally one testicle slips out when bending over or sitting, particularly in cold weather. It doesn’t occur often, but it’s annoying because you usually have to unlock the device to fix it. To address this, should I try a smaller base ring (1 7/8”) or reduce the gap to 1/4”? I’ve been testing various sizing rings. The 2” ring is comfortable; I can fit two fingers up to the first knuckle. I can also get into the 1 7/8” ring, but it requires pulling both testicles through and then forcing my penis in before an erection tries to happen. One finger fits up to the first knuckle there too, so blood flow should be fine. My only concern is removing it if things heat up quickly. I’m currently testing this size for a longer duration. Any advice on ensuring I order the right size? Thanks! joe

I went through the same shift from CB6000 to a jailbird. The test of fitting one finger up to (but not past) the knuckle worked for me... I've worn my jailbird 24/7 for 22 months, unlocking once a month for shaving, cleaning, and bottoming with mistress. It has never slipped out, and I can always get it off from the base ring ... Even if mistress is teasing me while I'm hard (it's harder to remove when erect! LOL), I found that my CB 6000 was never really comfortable ... The cage felt too tight because of its enclosed design, and plastic irritated my skin more than stainless steel. Hygiene wasn't great either; I could only wear it for up to 3 days straight before needing a break. I used the MM plastic sizing ring kit (highly recommend!) to measure myself. I actually chose a narrower diameter cage (1&1/4") compared to the CB device, which turned out right. I wore the plastic rings that indicated my optimal size for a full week 24/7 before ordering from Mature Metal. For length, I measured the gap between the tip of my penis and the tip of the cb6000 (while flaccid) and subtracted it from the total cage length. That gave me a good measurement. The jailbird's tip is usually within 1/4" of mine, sometimes touching directly, which feels comfortable. (If you search urcatcher on Fetlife ... You'll find my profile and photos). My sizing advice: snug is very comfortable. People who order an MM device with "extra room" often regret it later. I also strongly suggest the security screw option; it's much less bulky than a padlock.

Thanks for the feedback! I have the sizing rings and am currently wearing the 1 7/8" ring to see if it holds up for long-term use. For the cage itself, I plan to choose a length of 2" (down from my CB6000's 2 1/5"). My current device has a tiny gap at the tip; subtracting that extra 1/4" makes 2" look like a solid estimate. Regarding internal diameter, the 1 3/8" ring fits really well. It's snug but doesn't require force to put on. This leaves just the gap question. I'm using 3/8" now and am tempted to go smaller with 1/4". When I put my CB 6000 on without the spacer, it closes down to 1/4", though I haven't tried wearing it like that yet. On a side note, how is your experience going regarding the increased weight of metal versus plastic?
