We’ve been under siege for the last few weeks. I’m sure of it, since my inbox fills up with alerts every time a new wave hits.

Previously, when this occurred, the site would briefly crash as we tried to fend off the intruders.

Last night was particularly brutal; my email box overflowed:). The hosting company handled it differently this time, avoiding a full shutdown like last time. Unfortunately, that approach led to the error messages you were seeing on your screens, though they hadn’t realized those errors had popped up. So there we are.

It looks like the trouble might be connected to our chatbar at the bottom of the page, so it’s been turned off completely for now. This should help us determine if that was indeed the culprit; once we know more, we’ll decide on next steps.

Appreciate your patience!

I suppose these are just the growing pains of managing a popular site, glad to see everything is back online:)

Does anyone know the reason behind this website's current troubles?

It’s not really my field of knowledge, but would using a virtual machine like VirtualBox help against these disruptions?

Thank You very much Mr Admin. I initially thought my computer had crashed, but i asked other users here and they experienced the same thing. Everything is functioning properly now.

Thank you for sticking with it and keeping the site alive!:) As an aside, when I ran a shopping cart website that frequently got targeted by certain countries notorious for these issues, I found success blocking the IP addresses linked to those regions. It really helped! The decision was straightforward since we didn't ship or sell products there anyway, meaning they definitely weren't our customers. If you notice consistent targeting from specific areas (clusters of IPs), consider blocking them for a month and observe whether things improve. Here is what I used ...

I’d like to add my appreciation and gratitude for the earlier comments regarding your dedication in restoring full service. Running several websites plus a significant local hotspot personally, I grasp how challenging and irritating these situations can become. It’s especially annoying when a small minority act as though resolution should be instantaneous. So, a massive thank you to You. To everyone else: 'when things don't go exactly as planned, please keep calm and bear with us'. (I must mention that I am consistently impressed by the goodwill displayed on this platform. May it endure...)
