I’m referring to the open loop section of a steel apparatus that sits over the base ring barrel. I’ve adjusted the device downwards so the opening near the testicles is narrower than the one at the top of the unit. Without welding, does anyone have suggestions on how to prevent it from spreading out again? It has already widened just from walking around, causing significant pain in public, especially when I don’t have my key nearby. See example below; it’s similar to the device I’m using.

I'd suggest attaching cols tape or a cable binder on each side—whatever you call them in English. Here is what I mean: I'm unsure about their strength against nighttime erections, but they should certainly hold the loop section and rings at your desired maximum distance during the day if positioned at 90° and 180°. This limits movement to within the space between the two horizontal bars. The scrotum then has that 180° clearance beneath the loop part and ring. Perhaps add some soft padding over them to prevent chafing (like a cotton finger plaster or similar). I believe this approach will work. Good luck!
