I believe I’ve located a device that fits well, but the break-in period still involves some pinching and tugging, particularly when sitting, driving, or sleeping.

Do most men stick with one device for the long haul, or do they switch between multiple ones?

I won't (and shouldn't) claim to represent everyone's experience, but I've found that keeping a single device on long term is the best approach. My body has gotten used to its limits, and it would be quite an ordeal for my KH if I were always unlocking one unit only to lock myself into another. The only exception I make is during air travel: I swap my metal cage for a comparable plastic model to get through security checks more easily.
