Hello! I’ve used various keywords to search the forum, but I haven’t found an answer yet. How do people wearing chastity devices keep their locks dry in the shower, particularly those with numbered mechanisms? Yesterday I took a shower and so far today everything seems fine (the discs are moving well). I am slightly concerned because I definitely want to be able to open the locked device later on, while also washing myself. Do you apply any oil for protection and cleaning? Hello; I had the same worries and discovered a simple, low-cost solution. Like you, I couldn't find an answer here or elsewhere online. I experimented with plastic wrap and small ziplock bags but didn't have any luck. Then it hit me that a condom might work, which wasn't too bad at all. I simply rolled it over the bottom of the lock and across the hasp. It lasts for about 4 or 5 uses before needing replacement. Condoms aren't exactly cheap, plus they are often used for their intended purpose. Later on, while cleaning up one day, I realized that disposable Nitrile gloves were actually the answer. I wear extra-large sizes and cut off the fingers of a glove. They fit perfectly over the lock on my Mature Metals Jail Bird. The finger can be pulled all the way up, and the open end folded over the hasp can be secured with a twist tie. It is both easy and affordable. I use "garden ties" which come on spools and are available at most hardware or garden shops. My Nitrile gloves cost very little when bought from Harbor Freight. Even if you have no other use for the glove, cutting off one finger still leaves you with a superior solution compared to others. I typically wear one finger of a glove for a week, though it could last longer; I swap them out once they look soiled. Just slide it on, fold over the top, add a twist tie, and shower without worrying about your lock getting wet. I am including a photo that hopefully shows this method clearly.
