Behind Barz discussion

I wanted to share my impressions while testing the new Behind Barz belt. I shared a thread years ago detailing my history with devices, but life has been busy so I haven’t had much chance to really enjoy this lifestyle. I’m including some background because it feels relevant to the review; feel free to skip if you prefer.

I’ve always loved restraints and padding since childhood. About 17 years back, I discovered chastity through Altairboys’ site and was immediately hooked on the idea. A few years later, I bought a CB-2000 that I kept hidden for several years. I tried some bondage with different girlfriends but never worked up the nerve to reveal my chastity. Eventually, around the time the cb-6000 launched (and coinciding with my 2000 breaking), I told my girlfriend (now wife). She was fine with it. We experimented a bit without going too deep into it. Later, as she grew more comfortable with the concept, I decided to chase a fantasy and bought a My-Steel Total hip belt. It felt amazing—like unyielding steel encircling your whole crotch. She didn’t plan to wear it for long periods but knew it was a huge turn-on for me. The ErgoSlim worked well and allowed longer wearing times, though it had downsides. My job required sitting often when I needed to pee, and some days involved physical activity. So I bought an Amazon metal cage and a Jailbird. Since I’m more of a grower, neither option was perfect. The second MS belt came out on weekends when we had time, but over the years it got loose and noisy, making outdoor wear difficult.

We talked about wanting to reignite our marriage as work and life took over. She recalled how much she liked coming home to find me locked up and ready. It looked fantastic. After some emails, I ordered the Belt and open cage (BBCS). The belt arrived this week and is truly a work of art. Working with Jo was great; questions were answered quickly, communication was smooth (no language barrier), and the website is straightforward unlike NeoSteel which still confuses me. I haven’t used it with the cage/cable combo yet.

Build quality, The metal is thick enough that edging isn’t necessary (it’s included). This is a plus because the MS belt sticks to my skin and sometimes rips, leaving sharp edges exposed. My finish is matte black with no flaws. The stainless parts are polished beautifully with no sharp spots. The MS had a burr in its penis tube, which you can imagine was less than ideal.

Customer service, As mentioned, working with Jo was pleasant, and Joe is a skilled craftsman. Questions were answered promptly, they modified my order as requested without hassle, it shipped to the US arriving next day, and packaging was excellent—you couldn’t guess what was inside just by looking at the box.

Wear-ability, So far, it’s quite comfortable for a steel jockstrap. Being able to adjust the waistband by several inches is huge because measurements can vary with different devices. The open tube aids cleaning and lets air circulate. It points down slightly outward so no bulge issues arise from being noticed. Sitting, driving, and sleeping have been fine thus far. I got it on Wednesday, played around a bit, then took it off. Yesterday after work, I put it back on for another test run and haven’t taken it off since. By day two, I felt confident enough to wear it to the office! As I type this, I’m sitting on a bar stool still in it. Peeing can be messy unless you align perfectly, but rinsing and drying is easy.

Locks, The locking system overall is excellent. The MS used small locks that became flimsy after repeated use; they had little room to turn the key and required holding everything together while putting them on. This new belt has a large thumbscrew allowing you to wear it without a lock since it holds things in place securely. Putting the lock on is now relaxing rather than frustrating—frustration being the last thing you want when your KH is trying to unlock you! These locks turn like screws; once aligned, a few spins with the key and you’re secured.

Escapeability, As expected, this one won’t come off without a key. The cock ring traps your balls regardless, so even if the belt slides down, your testicles keep you trapped. I haven’t been able to slide out the back yet (unlike with other belts). If managed correctly, the cage/cable setup would prevent that.

Great post cbguy! I’ve read many of your threads over the years and can relate to much of your journey with this **chastity** fantasy. Your write-up clearly shows how straightforward the basic idea is for making a belt work well, not just for the wearer but also from the keyholder's perspective after all—they play a huge role in successful wear. I’m glad you had such positive impressions communicating with Joe and staff at BehindBarz; this matters greatly when purchasing something so personal to someone who might already be nervous about contacting others regarding their inner self. I hope your next steps go equally well. Personally, I believe the solid rod, once bent and fitted correctly, is by far the best entrapment method available today, avoiding many downsides of other methods. Once in place, you barely feel it’s there. I’m currently talking to Joe about a small adaptation we might make to how it fastens at the waistband so that fitting/removing doesn’t require dropping the front outer cage entirely. It could be locked in place by another matching radial lock like the two fronts, making removing the cage and cock tube completely separate from the rod action. This would allow **butt plug** devices or other plugs to slip in/out easily via the keyholder. Keep up the good work.
