My partner is interested in finding some software to help her monitor my maid service routine during the day while she’s at work. After doing a bit of digging, I came across Since we own a couple MacBooks equipped with built-in iSight cameras and she has an iPhone, this looked like a solid option. Essentially, she can position the MacBooks around the house to ensure broad coverage—for example, one could cover our whole living room and kitchen area, while another handles a bedroom or other spaces. Through the software, she can keep an eye on my activities anytime from her iPhone, even controlling the pan, tilt, and zoom functions. Additionally, she can configure a motion detector so the camera only activates and starts recording when I’m in the frame. She has the option to watch live footage or have the camera capture still images every 5 to 10 seconds. The potential uses are quite extensive.

I believe she’ll use this setup to verify that my daily maid duties stay on schedule and that I am dressed according to her standards. It also occurred to me that she could utilize this technology for remote punishment or control—for instance, sending a text message instructing me to stand in the living room and attach clothespins, weights, or other items to various parts of my body until she sends another text confirming completion. Naturally, she can observe the entire process from her office via her iPhone to ensure I am complying.
