From what I gather, a PA is quite permanent since the hole remains open permanently; this means urinating involves an extra opening when not wearing jewelry. In contrast, a frenum piercing tends to close up over time if removed, though I’m not entirely certain that’s accurate.

How straightforward is it to remove and reinsert the jewelry? Are these piercings likely to set off airport security scanners? What are your thoughts on the pros of PA compared to frenum options? Thanks ahead for any advice or feedback.

The PA does heal back up. I have a PA and find it simple to take out while traveling if using a captured ball or barbell style jewelry, though I usually keep mine in when flying, which happens once or twice annually. For the most part, I wear my PA locking hasp for chastity. A friend of mine also had a PA for this purpose but grew tired of it; he mentioned that after about eight months, the hole was essentially gone and fully healed.
