Today I was chatting with a friend on MSN and shared that I’m preparing to mail my key to a keyholder for the first time. I admitted I’m quite nervous, mostly because of deep-seated paranoia which is tough for me to overcome. This makes sending the key so significant since it relies entirely on trusting the recipient. The typical concerns are still there: getting lost in transit, her misplacing it, or failing to return it, and so forth. My friend suggested purchasing a duplicate padlock and sending that one instead. I was stunned! As someone who identifies as submissive, the thought of deceiving a Dominant figure felt wrong. However, he explained this is exactly what he did during his first time. He noted it provided extra peace of mind knowing the key would return, allowing him to send the genuine article next time. But isn’t that essentially showing distrust and undermining the whole point? Has anyone else encountered this approach before? I don’t think I’ll go down that road because I can’t bear not being completely open with my Keyholder. It strikes me as strange for anyone to choose it!
NightSprite, having a contingency plan is actually quite sensible. Perhaps you could agree to keep an emergency key secured or sealed in something that reveals if it's been opened. Having an escape route isn't just about trust; it's practical too. If you're dealing with severe chafing or discomfort, waiting DAYS for the main key simply won't work when you need relief sooner. That said, one "backout" strategy could be as simple as carrying bolt cutters or a Dremel tool. Honestly, most locks from the CB-xxxx series can be picked using just a paper clip, though you might hesitate to try that out! lol. I'd talk it over with your KH and create a plan centered around "safety". Hopefully, this arrangement also handles any potential breaches of trust. Good luck! mikecb
it's hardly Fort Knox NightSprite and I reckon even in a worst-case scenario you'd manage to get it off. don't stress too much just mail the key and enjoy the suspense:anim_39:
Oh no worries, I am sending the real key!! I'm far too submissive to do anything else! :anim_37:
