I’ve sent out quite a number of locks over the past three or four years, mostly after people have begged and pleaded for them. I’ve locked some for nearly two years, but by far the most common outcome is that they vanish after about a week, never to be heard from again. Some even delete their profiles entirely.
I get it—the reality of being locked doesn’t always match up with expectations or fantasies. It’s not easy staying locked by someone you’ve never met in person, and I understand they’d rather have a real-life relationship where the locking happens face-to-face. But my question is… why “do a runner”? Why not simply say, “Sorry, it’s not what I expected; I can’t continue,” or “I need more than you’re offering”? If someone told me that directly, I’d be fine with it. So why run away and cut contact? Is it embarrassment at failing to meet their promises? Or perhaps the keyholder is no longer useful to them, so they see no point in keeping up appearances? Or maybe it’s disappointment because the fantasy wasn’t quite what they thought?
I’m curious to hear your thoughts. Perhaps I’m just not very good at being a keyholder!:)
I find that ball locking devices have an issue: they are easy to escape from. The locks themselves can break easily, or with some models, you might slip out and back in without much trouble. I’m not saying there isn’t a rush of excitement when you first get locked up—hormones surging all around—but as life goes on, that novelty wears off. That’s where a real chastity belt comes into play. Take the Carrara I wear, for instance: once it’s on, there is no escaping. You go about your day wearing it whether you feel like it or not; it’s just always there. With these ball locking devices, however, they take your key, spend a day or two in the device, and then simply break the lock. Obviously, after doing so, they feel guilty for what they’ve done. They shamefully delete their profiles and likely start new ones to avoid you directly.

Thanks for replying. I don’t think there’s anything shameful about not being able to carry on; that judgment is mostly in their own heads. Do you believe they then try getting locked by someone else, or do they give up on chastity entirely?
