Dollyanne spotted a keyed plastic lock on eBay, specifically made for the cb-3000 and cb-6000 models. She is curious if anyone has used it or can share thoughts on it. If it works well, it could be great for the cb-6000s because standard padlocks—even tiny ones—are often too big. It would also mean no more relying on those numbered plastic locks that usually come with just five in a box. They definitely work with the cb6000. It has a low profile and is lightweight. It doesn't click when you walk because it clamps directly onto the post. I actually manufacture them myself, so I might be slightly biased.

Dollyanne missed your comment earlier but is happy to see you here! Mistress Watchful asks some good questions, and it would be nice to read any reviews for or against the lock. It looks like there is one key—is that correct? Is the key designed so that it’s difficult to copy or jimmy open with a flat-head screwdriver or similar tool? The picture makes it hard to see exactly what the locking mechanism looks like. Will one key work on multiple locks? Another advantage of your lock seems to be its ability to slide up the shaft and press tight against the ring, reducing any slack that might occur when using spacers along with a **lock**. Plus, it’s waterproof and safe for airport security (except maybe those new scanners that show you naked!) As dollyanne pointed out, the cb-6000S has a shorter shaft, so standard locks stick up too high, making the front look uneven. This **lock** removes that bulge and works with the longer cb-6000 as well. Any extra details or answers you can give would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for the warm welcome. I wish I could share reviews with you via my eBay feedback. However, I list items as "private," so while you can read the comments, it’s not always clear what they refer to. That said, my rating is 100% and you can view it on eBay under seller "onscreen5". I’ll try best to explain how it functions. Imagine a cylinder about 3/8 inches in diameter and half an inch tall. One end has internal threads; the other has a 1/8-inch through-hole, with a quarter-inch cross-hole at the bottom of the cylinder. The tip of the cb6000 lock pin slides into this cross-hole, aligning the holes in both the pin and the cylinder base. The second piece looks like a set screw or headless bolt. Protruding from its end is a 1/8-inch pin. This bolt screws into the cylinder while the tip passes through the hole in the cb6000 pin and then through the bottom hole of the cylinder. Machined slightly oval at the very end of this bolt is a counterbore that fits perfectly with the third piece: the **key**. They are machined as a matched set, and I vary the width and radius of the oval randomly from batch to batch. The only way to open it without the key would be cutting it off or forcing a screwdriver into the oval shape. The problem is that these two parts fit very loosely; any tampering or damage to the bolt’s oval will prevent the **key** from reinserting properly unless you notice the flaw. So, without the key, opening it risks damaging it, which means your busted status. It must align with the 1/8-inch hole in the pin and bottom out against the pin, so there is no rattling at all. There’s also a flat side on one part of the cylinder allowing installation closer or farther from the shield by about an eighth of an inch. This is my design. I also produce a security insert that works somewhat like a Chinese finger trap using rubber pegs for the 3000 and 6000 models.

Unfortunately not. I mainly sell my **lock** through eBay. Occasionally I sew up one or two uniforms and list those too.
