Chastity and orgasm denial discussion

This topic was raised in a different discussion after someone noted that the acronym PIV is seen as offensive to women on this forum, and likely by extension to all women. I find it quite interesting because it strikes me as very plain and clinical. The letters stand for (I suppose) Penis In Vagina. Those two words are already among the most medical terms for genitalia, yet they become even more diluted when turned into an acronym. I can understand why people might get upset over DIC; I have seen firsthand how much women dislike that particular C-word. It never crossed my mind that anyone would be offended by PIV though. On the other hand, the avatar situation showed me that I am not exactly the most perceptive person here. What is your take? Is it really offensive? Do we have a better option?
