I’ve been using a BB belt since April, wearing it quite often, so I decided to share my review for anyone considering buying one.
First up are some general thoughts, with more detailed info below for those who want the full picture.
General comments To start with, I really like this belt. Re-reading what I wrote before posting, I realize it might sound a bit critical in spots, which wasn’t my goal—I can be picky! Keep that in mind: the pros definitely outweigh the cons, and I do recommend it as an excellent choice. Also, as BB correctly noted in my welcome thread, you need to gradually increase your locking time.
The construction is top-notch, and it looks great too. There are several options available, so with some research or trial and error, you should find a model that fits your needs.
It feels wonderful on the body. I genuinely miss it when I’m not wearing it, and I can’t wait to get locked up again. However, I do struggle slightly after about five days (details below). If I could resolve that issue, it would be nearly perfect for me.
The belt is very secure, though the locks themselves could perhaps be a bit more robust (more on this later).
Putting the belt together Assembling the belt is straightforward. The waist section comes in two pieces that screw onto a back plate using nuts and bolts. These nuts are low-profile enough to sit relatively flush against the waistband—I’m not entirely sure if ‘nut’ is technically correct here, but you get the idea.
One potential improvement involves the nuts themselves. Because they are round, they tend to slip while tightening the bolts, meaning you can’t always achieve full tightness. Once I determined the right sizing for my belt, I superglued the nuts in place so everything could be tightened completely. If the nuts fit into square holes within the belt structure and couldn’t rotate during tightening, it would make adjustment much easier.
Measurements Ordering requires minimal measurement work, as you can adjust the waist size by up to 2 inches (in one-inch increments). This was a major selling point for me. I had considered ordering a Neosteel belt but hesitated because of the need to purchase a measuring kit first; I feared getting at least one measurement wrong and facing the hassle of returning it to Germany.
With the BB belt, I felt confident placing my order without that worry, especially given the 2-inch adjustability. Even if my measurements weren’t perfectly precise, I was sure the fit would be good.
The only other measurements needed are for the cock ring and tube size. I chose the largest sizes for both, believing it’s better to err on the larger side. I also opted for an oval-shaped ring.
Fitting out of the box When I first tried it on, the fit was very good right away. It takes a little time to make minor bends and experiment with different waist settings.
Eventually, I noticed the waist belt wasn’t perfectly sized (it’s not truly custom-made), but Behind Barz were kind enough to send me a replacement back plate at no cost. This new one was 1/2 inch shorter than the original box contents. With it installed, the waist fits perfectly.
Another sizing issue involved the cock ring. Although I chose the largest size, I found it quite painful at night and causing some abrasion. I ordered a custom-sized ring instead, and now experience no discomfort even after a week of wear.
Trying out different configurations The system is versatile and can be worn in several ways:
- Penis tube only (with or without the cock ring)
- As above, but with the cage included (with or without an anal rod)
- Cage only (with or without the anal rod)
I’ve found that wearing both the penis tube and cock ring works best for me. It’s very secure; I don’t feel there’s any way to remove the belt while it’s locked. The cock ring also keeps everything positioned nicely.
Without the cock ring, you might be able to wiggle the belt down slightly (depending on your body shape and how tight you wear the waist band).
I found that adding the cage (and rod) didn’t significantly improve security. However, the cage becomes uncomfortable after a short while because it chafes my thighs. There is a lower-profile Hannibal cage option which might help with this—I’d like to test that in the future.
I’ve also tried wearing just the cage without the tube and found it less than ideal due to some sharp edges pressing painfully against the penis. I was somewhat disappointed by this, as a cage-only setup could allow for breaks from the tube. The Hannibal cage might solve this too, though I haven’t tested it yet.
A note on the penis tube: the standard version is quite open and doesn’t seem to prevent touching yourself easily. Therefore, I had bars fitted into the gaps of the tube. Without these bars, a cage would likely be necessary for added security.
Long term wear After switching to the larger cock ring, I’ve found the belt generally very comfortable, even overnight, wearing it continuously for up to seven days at times.
Despite its comfort, I currently have an issue with the penis tube itself.
I got the tube fitted with bars to restrict access. However, this bar arrangement reduces the internal diameter of the tube and creates pressure points where they contact your penis before the rest of the tube does. After about five days, this can make me a bit sore, requiring a couple of days off before I can lock up again. This is where wearing just the cage would be useful (see comments above).
For me, this is a definite area for improvement. I’ve been in contact with Behind Barz, and they agreed to manufacture a custom tube with bars fitted so as not to reduce the internal diameter. If I purchase this update, I will post back later. Currently though, those bars prevent the belt from being suitable for truly long-term wear for me.
I also plan to try the standard tube, but worry it might be too open. Perhaps getting a shorter tube would help restrict erections more effectively despite the openness? If anyone has thoughts on this, I’d love to hear them.
Another problem with the current tube is that the urine hole pinches my foreskin and feels quite sharp. Behind Barz suggested enlarging the hole could smooth out the edges. I can live with it for now; the main issue remains the pressure points from the bars in the tube.
Security I wear the belt with both the cock ring and tube, making it impossible to remove without a key.
However, I’ve discovered that replacement locks are easy to buy online. I bought a couple to have spare keys (kept under my wife’s control). While I like knowing I’m completely locked up without permission from my wife, realizing I could order a new key and unlock myself within days does slightly diminish the feeling of inescapability.
Hygiene The standard tube is quite open, so hygiene isn’t usually an issue. With bars on my specific tube, a daily shower clean suffices, but a thorough cleaning out of the belt is needed once or twice a week.
Conclusion It’s a great belt for continuous locking periods around a week long for me. If I can resolve the digging-in bars in the penis tube (or just get used to them), it will be ideal. The fact that spare keys are easily purchasable is slightly disappointing, as this is the only factor keeping the system from being truly inescapable.
