Novices and newbies discussion

I’m facing a small dilemma. I’d like to lock myself up for specific periods, but there’s no one available to hold the key. So I’m considering ways to keep the keys away from me, though every method I’ve attempted (like tossing them somewhere in my room) has resulted in me finding them within about an hour. Any advice or tips would be appreciated.
