“Last week my wife asked me to come home from work early for some fun… but as is often the case, she didn’t quite wrap up her tasks in time for us. When she finally stepped out of our office, she apologized because it was already time to pick up the kids. Rather than being passive-aggressive or just whining about it, I gave the kitchen a thorough cleaning. She really noticed and said, ‘Wow… you do that so well and quickly; maybe this SHOULD be your job.’ She thanked me for not interrupting her work, called me a good boy, and teased me into waiting another day before unlocking me. Then yet another day passed before I got my reward.

Last night she came back from a business trip late and was tired in the morning (I’m not locked right now). The house always gets messy when one of us travels for work. As she headed out to drop the kids at school, she muttered under her breath about how good I am at cleaning and that it really should be my responsibility. So I dropped everything and cleaned up the main floor as fast as possible during the half-hour window while she was gone… doing a full load of dishes, wiping counters, sweeping floors, and putting away clothes and toys. She was so appreciative when she got home and said how lucky she is.

There wasn’t any ‘sexualization’ happening here… it was just me being helpful to her and reinforcing that she can ask or tell me to do things that make life easier for her. Now, ‘real’ submission means anticipating her needs and meeting them, but this felt like a nice balance of me feeling some submission while not having to lift a finger herself.

Anyway, I see it as progress. In the past, she has had significant guilt about thinking I do more than she does. I am indeed the breadwinner, but we both hold important jobs. She’s been doing well at her work lately too, which I think helps with that dynamic.

Kind of a dull post… just another step on the journey…
