Surprisingly, I remained unaware of the difference between BDSM and D/s during my first two years in chastity. A recent reading clarified that while BDSM refers to an activity set, D/s represents a lifestyle approach, which felt completely right. This distinction also helped me realize how different a typical BDSM fantasy is from submitting to my Key Holder’s authority. I can certainly negotiate a scene with my partner if our kinks align, but it wouldn’t be appropriate for me to take charge of the daily routines, rules, and commitments that define our D/s dynamic. Chastity fits well within the D/s framework as perhaps a convenient prop during a BDSM play date, provided I earn one.

Understanding this split generally has improved my role as a submissive and sharpened how I communicate my BDSM fantasies to find shared interests in our relationship. I wanted to share this insight to assist others and invite CM to add more depth to this thread for my own learning. Thank you… Mr M
