The cage arrived on Thursday, giving me a few days to inspect it.

Initial thoughts out of the box:

• It feels somewhat heavy. The metal construction seems quite solid.
• The exterior is nicely polished, though the interior and spaces between bars are less so. That said, there aren’t any rough edges or worrying areas.
• From a side view, this cage looks smaller than the Vice Mini, even though both advertise a 1.5” length. When fully assembled with an identical gap between ring and cage body, the Vice protrudes about 1/3” further out.
• The largest available ring size is just 46mm. This is a letdown because I would have liked to see at least one step up in sizing.
• The urination hole is larger and better positioned compared to the Mini model. Plus, the bar spacing prevents fingers from slipping through without being so tight that it dulls sensation entirely. I haven’t worn it long enough to clean yet, so I can’t comment on maintenance issues, but I don’t anticipate major problems there.

Putting it on:

• The base ring has a hinge, though not in the conventional manner. Securing the ring for the first time required some maneuvering. Fortunately, no pinching occurred and doesn’t seem likely to happen later.
• The post screws directly into the cage body to keep everything secure. (Key tip: pay attention to which direction the post turns when screwing on versus unscrewing!)

After wearing it for a few days:

• On my first night, I only kept the device on for roughly an hour. When trying to remove it later, I forgot which way to turn the post to loosen it. It took a minute or two to get off. From what I understand about physics, when the cage is assembled and in use, the post resists rotation slightly more than expected. This triggered a mild panic as I struggled to separate the mechanism from my body.
• The next morning, I put the cage back on for workwear. After about 9 hours, discomfort began setting in, requiring removal. Again, I faced that minor struggle spinning the troublesome post. Interestingly, I noticed heightened sensitivity at the glans while wearing it—a new sensation for me (which isn’t necessarily negative).

So after a couple of days, my verdict remains undecided on this cage. As I get more accustomed to wearing it, removing it should become easier once I master some helpful techniques.

I hadn't realized the post screws into the tube section. Presumably, this design helps stabilize the tube without relying entirely on the lock to hold things in place. Loosening the post might be a bit confusing initially for some people, but I'm confident you'll get used to it quickly. While I'm not an expert on metal finishing techniques, it appears that placing the cage in a tumbler would improve its finish significantly. Please keep us posted!
