Site announcements and information discussion

We’re not talking about the Avatar policy here. I just want to be able to give a “like” to someone’s profile picture, but it seems there is no way for that. The profile photo / avatar (call it what you will) isn’t counted among the members’ other pictures, yet often it serves as their best or sole uploaded image. Why not allow people to view and “like” it just like they do with any other picture?
