Greetings in multiple languages: Hello, Salut, Hola, and Annyeong. I’m BlackEclectiCat; feel free to call me Cat. As of today (7/9/2019), I’ve only been here for three days, and it seems some are waiting for me to spill a few details about who I am. Before that, though, there’s one thing I want to note: It feels like FetLife has left quite the bad taste in many mouths on CM. Rest assured, even with my membership over there, I’m not trash. Some folks there really grate on my nerves because they often show little respect for Dommes and tend to top from beneath (a habit more common there than here). Language is a tricky beast. Even though I speak three or more languages and pick up new ones naturally—I just need to be a bit stricter with my practice, but that’s neither here nor there—I still haven’t quite mastered the local dialect of those who call CM home. That hesitation kept me quiet publicly because I knew full well I’d slip up on terminology and accidentally step on toes. Well, here goes nothing: if I offend you, know it was no ill intent. Now, let’s get to why I joined. The Story of the Black Eclectic Cat Entering story mode Lately, something unsettling happened that made me question humanity and storm off from a community I used to love. Now I’m thinking about leaving for good until a friend started raving about CM. She told me this place is different—a judgment-free zone where people are kinder, more open, and respectful. Not quoting her word-for-word, but something like, “Alright, why not? I could use a change of scenery and some fresh faces,” I said. And so, I signed up. A day later, I tackled my About Me section. It was tough because, as with any new platform, I didn’t want to come across as stuck-up or self-satisfied while pretending otherwise. So I kept it modest. After all, I wanted people to get a true sense of me. Judging by the kind messages and profile comments asking to know more, I think I pulled it off. Lifts bountiful chest with pride. Begin side note I’m what you might call an ambivert. For those who don’t know, that means I swing between being introverted and extroverted depending on the moment. If I’m in unfamiliar territory (whether online or offline), I go deep into my shell. But when I feel at ease, I can be quite social. Right now, my introversion dial is turned up high. Hopefully, it’ll settle down soon so I can relax a bit. Until then, expect me to keep things quiet at first. Also, the more you press me to open up from my little shell, the tighter I hold on. Give me space, and I might emerge. End side note * Clearing Up Misconceptions & Adding Details I’m still figuring out if key holding is for me. Again, brand new at this game. I prefer reading and researching first. I want to understand the history and see how it aligns with my personality. What I can say for sure is that I am a sensual Domme, not one who cracks whips and crushes egos in the process. Nope, definitely not me. That doesn’t mean I wouldn’t enjoy cracking a whip at someone who asks for it! As a kinkster myself, I find that dynamic stimulating on many levels. There are other layers to my interests, but I’ll keep those under wraps unless someone genuinely curious messages me privately—not just some rude little punk looking for attention. So far, the rudeness hasn’t been too bad (though I’d expect it from FL). You’ve got that going for you here. Some have wondered if my fetishes suit CM types searching for their keyholder. Then again, others and I click perfectly fine. So perhaps I do belong after all. At first glance, some seemed to latch on a bit too hard, so maybe I’ll need to whip out my virtual swatter and shout, “Chill out!” * Places swatter back in the holster. Am I hunting for a sub? (Using FL terminology since I’m still learning CM lingo)? No. As I said before, I’m mostly observing. My goal isn’t necessarily to hold someone’s key or fit into their lock, but rather to uncover parts of myself I haven’t explored yet and watch my personal growth unfold. Talking with the few folks here has already highlighted areas of thought I hadn’t considered. Do I want this path or something else? That is indeed the question. Hah, a touch of Shakespeare there. Lol If you’ve followed all that without losing your way, bravo! You’ve navigated the labyrinth of my mind successfully. Honestly, even it spins me around sometimes. But more to come. * Inserts dark laugh and takes a bow. * Pleased to make your acquaintance. ~Cat
