On FetLife I have consistently gotten numerous messages from male submissives expressing interest in handling my household chores, gardening, car washing, and similar tasks. They claim they simply wish to perform these duties without any sexual expectation attached. While the offers are pleasant, they often lack practicality for me since I already employ help for those roles.

This situation brought to mind a conversation with a male coworker from a few years back. He was in his early forties and recently divorced. After joining an online dating platform, he began meeting up with women several times. During their visits, they would often sit together watching television or chatting, yet she constantly rose to prepare snacks or beverages for him, or fetched items like a footrest.

My query is whether these individuals are submissives or merely people pleasers? They appear motivated by more than just sexual desire; they genuinely enjoy assisting and satisfying others.

Does the key distinction lie in whether a submissive acts primarily out of sexual motivation?

Excellent question! I believe that even today, many women feel it is essential to "run around" attending to their partners. My parents exemplified this dynamic. Later in life, my father had to be reminded that his wife was not merely a slave; we still use the words please and thank you after all. Even Mrs Chaste has noted that as a wife, her responsibility is to "look after me." And she does an admirable job! Looking after me involves keeping me locked in chastity because orgasms aren't beneficial for my condition. Female-led relationships can take many forms; while some operate on a dominant/submissive model, I believe it largely depends on individual circumstances, desires, and fetish preferences. Regarding subs versus people pleasers: Submissives certainly wish to serve (for various reasons). People pleasers simply prefer avoiding conflict.

I see a shared trait between the two groups because one cannot truly be submissive without also being a people pleaser. There is certainly a sexual element to submission, but for me, it involves a willingness to act and go beyond what I would normally consider acceptable. As a submissive, you willingly give up your right to refuse an order or request, provided it stays within the boundaries previously agreed upon with your Master. It is this readiness to set aside personal wishes in favor of serving another that elevates a submissive above most people pleasers. If sexual pleasure accompanies that service, it is a bonus, but the service continues regardless.
