Difficulties with wearing a device? discussion

The mould lines on my silicone cage ring are rubbing against me. I’m taken aback because it came from a well-regarded shop, yet perhaps this is typical for plastic rings? Does anyone have tips to get rid of them? I was considering using some plastic modelling glue since it might fuse the lines together so they can be smoothed out. I’ve heard suggestions about soaking in hot water to partially soften and reshape the silicone, which could potentially eliminate those raised edges as well? Has anyone dealt with mould lines before and managed to fix them? Fortunately I have several rings available for testing. Cheers beforehand
