Difficulties with wearing a device? discussion

Here’s a quick summary of my situation. I’ve recently gone through a divorce and now have the chance to explore new things. Chastity has interested me for over fifteen years, though I’ve tried the honor system several times with mostly failures. Ball traps haven’t worked out well either; they’re often too uncomfortable for extended wear, and since I’m an active person who’s had two hernia surgeries that get worsened by the pulling motion, belts aren’t really viable options anymore. My focus is on newer non-ball trap devices introduced in recent years. The main hurdle right now is getting pierced. I have some apprehension about urethral sounds (PA) because passing something through the urethra doesn’t appeal to me much. A frenum piercing seems more promising, but there’s not a lot of information available regarding success rates with the Bijou device, which appears to be one of the few non-ball trap options for this area. Specifically, I need to know what gauge is required to keep the frenum stable and prevent migration or pulling out while supporting the device? Also, do either of these approaches seem viable overall? There seems to be quite a bit of discussion regarding irritation around piercings when using non-ball trap devices. Ultimately, I want to experiment long-term without permanently harming my urethra or risking the frenum tearing through.
