I bought my William Jones shemale belt back in December 2007. I traveled to Pennsylvania for a measurement and meeting with Thomas, the owner; it was a very pleasant experience. The wait time stretched out quite a bit (3 months), though that fell within what he had told me would happen. One issue arising from this delay was that due to heavy work stress, I gained about 15 lbs during those three months. Consequently, my belt ended up being very snug. Granted, this wasn’t their fault, but it is something worth keeping in mind when ordering a custom piece with an extended lead time. Put simply, keep a close eye on your weight while you wait for the belt to arrive.
Aside from sizing, the fit and finish of my belt are quite nice. The comfort and workmanship are very good, and now that I’ve shed about half of those extra pounds, it is starting to fit well.
From a quality perspective, I’m not particularly fond of their snakeeye locking system. However, I am glad I opted for the extra numbered tag option so I could add a second lock or tag if needed.
Getting in touch with Thomas can sometimes be tricky, and I understand he has had various issues that slowed his response time down from usual, so keep that in mind too. To give him fair credit, I’d suggest anyone doing business with him to practice patience because once you actually connect with him, he is great.
So perhaps the real question should be: would I recommend William Jones to a friend? Well, yes and no. Yes if you are on the east coast and want your belt professionally measured. Yes if you aren’t the type of person who freaks out when an estimated delivery time hits the longer end of the estimate. And yes if you want a nice piece at a reasonable price. On the other hand, I would say look into other options if you can’t answer yes to those points. Oh yeah, and also yes if someone else measures you and you just want a good belt (understanding the disclaimers).
Anyway, I hope this helps everyone out and is fair to all parties while being useful. If I missed anything, please let me know; I will also post an update once I have worn my belt for longer periods.
Thanks for the review Tom. Every little bit helps when someone is trying to get accurate good advice from others with experience.
One additional point. Thomas, the owner of William Jones Chastity, seems to have been having trouble getting back to people lately. I suspect this is due to medical issues that were bothering him earlier in the year. So my recommendation for anyone considering a belt from him is to make sure you can get hold of him and actually speak with him before placing your order.
**William jones, belt** After several years using a tube plastic model and Ms. Lori steel one, I have decided to take the plunge and order a belt! Excited, nervous, and worried it won't be right are all feelings I'm having right now. The owner Thomas/kelly has been great in our initial conversations; she assures me that with adjustment time I can go full-time with the belt within 2-3 weeks since she is living proof. Does anyone else have one? Any info will be greatly appreciated. chrissymaid

I would CAUTION you to be very careful when dealing with Thomas/kelly. While she is a wonderful person, she is HORRIBLE about getting back to people in a timely manner and returning calls. She was supposed to send me just one simple screw to replace one for my belt, and I still haven't received it two months later after several e-mails and phone calls. My point is that you may have problems with follow-up. Now, having said all of that, the quality of work was very good. So I only wish she were a little better about following up.
thank you for the follow up, hmm, if i go that route i'll have to be on the look out. She offered $200 more to make it in 4 days if I pay right now. Do you think i should spend the extra buck and just get it here, or wait the stated 8-12 weeks she quoted?
Update. I have recently changed my opinion of Kelly Hilmer and would recommend that people AVOID doing business with her. The reason is that when I sent my belt back for a repair and change to the locking system, not only was I disappointed with the new (junk) locking system, but the repairs were never actually made even though I was charged. Instead, my belt was simply sent back, and my calls and e-mails went unanswered. Please consider other belt makers besides Kelly Hilmer.
