Mature Metal discussion

Hello everyone. We are thinking about switching to a metal enclosure after the ring on our CB6000s snapped while we were just tweaking or shifting it slightly. Having read through quite a few threads here, all of which mention metal enclosures, we wonder if using the numbered plastic versions is viable for us. I can pick small metal locks easily enough, and personally prefer the tamper-evident protection that the numbered ones offer. Thanks ahead.

Hi there, that's an excellent question. I craft all my units to fit standard brass master luggage locks. Although I'm somewhat handy with tools, I've found those particular ones impossible for me to pick personally. If you place an order with me, please mention your plan to use the plastic numbered types. Appreciate the response. I intend to measure up and place my order shortly regarding the brass lock options. If they match those included with the CBxxxx line, then I'm confident I can pick them myself—usually taking less than a minute <shrug>. I'm not certain which specific ones come packaged with the CB series models. The ones I sell are branded as Master lock. Do the units from the CB line also display 'Master' on them?

Yes they do. Usually either the standard 20mm brass ones or the same size with a black rubber coating (to reduce noise).

do the locks make a clinking sound when they hit the metal if you wear boxers?
