I’m new here and have been reading up on everything, but I notice there are various opinions regarding lubrication versus keeping things dry. Also, if you use powder, do you ever switch to silicone or a moisturizer after a few hours? If so, which one?
One thing that confuses me is some people apply hand cream when putting their device in, then later advise against using glycerin because it can encourage yeast growth—but most hand lotions contain glycerin. I find it hard to imagine wearing hand lotion and staying quite moist inside the cage for hours on end, especially in a dark area.
I’ve also been thinking about silicone; it seems appealing since it doesn’t just sink into the skin like other products.
Powder is good too; it works well and keeps everything dry. However, as someone still getting used to this, I find that ‘nice and dry’ can turn into burning after a few hours while things are adjusting.
I’d love to hear your thoughts: do you live on dry land or in a moist world?
Maybe we should run a poll… it could be interesting.
Cheers, Tut
I always use a silicone lube called Gun Oil when wearing my CB6000. My Mistress insists on daily removal and cleaning of both the cage and her property. I've read that there are users here who wear theirs dry, but it seems to be down to personal choice. In my view, hygiene is paramount. I haven't been able to get along with the idea or practice of trying to stay clean using cotton buds and power shower hoses because it feels difficult to ensure you're truly even if you use a hair dryer. Having a fungus-infected cock isn't something I find enjoyable at all!!!!
Personal choice is definitely a major factor in this subject because everyone's needs are so unique. However, I've found that Astroglide lube works best for my preferences. This particular lube seems to absorb more slowly and gets me through the day with optimal comfort. I have mine removed at night for cleaning and sleep, so personally, that lube offers the best value and meets my needs. Dry methods never seemed to work well because they felt like they pulled more, or when I sweated, it just caused chafing. I seem to have gone off on a tangent there, but I hope this was at least somewhat helpful.
I agree that using a non-absorbing lube is the best approach. I use silicone because it never soaks in or wears off easily. I recommend applying a light coat to everything; it prevents chafing and helps everything slide more smoothly. If your cock tends to 'shrivel' at times, silicone will help restore its 'normal' size as well. It glides back down the tube (case, cage, or whatever you're using) much easier. You are correct about powders; they might keep things dry for a while, but they eventually wear off. If you sit and stand frequently or walk around often, you will need lube to maintain comfort. By the way, silicone washes off with just a little soap and water.
Johnson & Johnson's baby oil gel. I use just a small dab each morning and night before bed. I lightly rub it around the inner surface of the A-ring all over, plus another little dab on the scrotum area where the tube rests. When I first put it on, I apply a light coating to the penis as mentioned earlier to help it slide in and adjust from different conditions while inside the tube. It works well for me. I've only been doing this routine for about 4 months, but I believe I could wear it indefinitely at this point. It is incredibly comfortable for me.
I agree with Grenore. Baby oil gel is the way to go. The only downside is that the combination of the oil and normal skin flaking off inside the cage creates a hotbed for odor-causing bacteria along with urine, etc. Daily cleaning during the shower using Q-tips and soap as much as possible helps, along with a short, supervised removal of the cage every other day to clean it. During cooler, drier times of the year, you might be able to go longer between deep cleans. This odor problem initially turned my keyholder off chastity in the beginning. Finding a way to manage this issue helped significantly.
The odour issue is why I settled on a silicone lube and daily washing. The bottom line is that having your cock locked away in a confined plastic tube is basically unhygienic to me. My metal cage presents far less of a problem, and Mistress likes the metal cage for play and tease sessions more than the quite ugly CB6000. I envy those who do not have an issue with Q-tip cleaning; I just found it far too inefficient and ineffective. My Mistress expects to be able to use her cock and find it clean and odour-free whenever she wants.
I use Johnson's baby oil, shower/wash every day, and reapply as needed. I'm in a CB3000 24/7 for about a month at a time (only released on the first of each month for milking) and have never had any problems; it just makes my cock look really wrinkly.:D
