There have been a couple of threads on this topic, including one I started about a year ago discussing what key holders actually do with their keys.

As long as we’ve been part of the male chastity scene—roughly a year now—my wife and mistress has either hidden her key or worn it in a heart-shaped locket around her neck. It was an easy fix, but perhaps too conventional. I tried once or twice to get one custom-made for her without success initially. A round lock with the BDSM emblem seemed right to me. I spent MONTHS working with one jeweler on this. He was fully committed, yet for some reason stopped replying to emails and paused work on the project. I suspect he hit unexpected snags and didn’t want to admit it. Maybe he felt he wasn’t making enough profit given the time invested.

Regardless, I persisted. I searched for a new fetish-friendly jeweler online and connected with him to explain my plans. He proposed an interesting twist… instead of designing a locket to HIDE her key inside, why not make the key itself beautiful, functional, symbolic, and wearable? We brainstormed many concepts until he produced a digital sketch based on our ideas.

The design includes several symbols: the key, the female sign, a heart, and the male sign. The key represents something secured. Placing the male symbol atop it signifies a locked man. I modified the female symbol from its traditional round shape with a bottom cross to a heart shape with a bottom cross. It is larger than the male symbol and encircles it, representing dominance and affection. I managed to locate Mistress’s original key and send it off without her realizing—quite an achievement since she believed she had lost it. Luckily, she has a spare (though unused). He molded that key, embedding our chosen symbols into the cast before creating the pendant in sterling silver. The outcome is a fully working key that embodies our lifestyle beautifully while remaining elegant enough to wear daily. To those who understand, it holds deep meaning; to outsiders curious about “the key to my heart” or similar phrases, it passes easily as just jewelry.

Finding someone knowledgeable and skilled within the lifestyle was a long, difficult journey. Once found, however, the rest of the process was smooth, professional, and swift.

The attached image shows an actual photo of the pendant created for my Mistress. Richard took it just before shipping to me. Beside it lies her original key. We had to grind down part of the old key so it would fit into her heart-shaped lock. Now we can keep that one hidden as a backup.

The only HARD part (pun intended) was mailing the pendant back, testing its function, relocking it securely, wrapping it up, and placing it under the tree WITHOUT actually using it during the test period. LOL!
