I had a cb6000 in the past, but it broke recently…it’s quite the story. Now I’m shopping for a replacement that isn’t too pricey since the CB line tends to be on the expensive side and I want something budget-friendly for sissies.

I’ve been eyeing some stainless steel options listed on eBay. They feature a spiral shape with three ring size choices. My concern is whether they might slip off more easily than my old one. With the cb6000, I typically used the biggest ring paired with the second-largest spacer, which felt secure enough. The issue here is that these stainless models don’t include spacers at all.

Does anyone have tips for me? Is it worth purchasing these devices directly, or would a more affordable knockoff version of the cb6000 be a better bet?

The quality really hinges on which seller you choose from E-bay. I've picked up several over time—some are fantastic, while others were quite poor. For my needs, the standard sizing works perfectly. While I did use spacers with my CB6000 initially, I realized they weren't necessary for these metal devices. Similar to your experience, I stopped using mine once it cracked and turned into an unreliable, costly plastic item. Be cautious when purchasing from E-Bay though. When there were fewer choices available, I picked up a budget-friendly stainless steel model off eBay. The catch? Despite being stainless steel, the welds weren't rust-proof, which led to issues within that first week... IMGP0004.jpg The rust visible in the image appeared during my initial week of use and stems from those faulty welds. You'll see that many current listings specifically claim their products won't corrode. I've tried a few of these newer claims, and they hold up true. The one I received most recently was chromed over, which has made me the happiest so far. Why shop on eBay? It's an affordable way to test out different styles before committing. Eventually, I might purchase something custom-made down the line, but right now I'm content.
