CB Range discussion

I picked up my CB 6000 over the weekend and haven’t had much trouble finding a good fit, but one issue I’m facing is that skin keeps getting caught in the ring’s groove, which causes quite a bit of pain. Is this common for beginners? Does it improve with time? Or are there methods to stop it from happening?

Are you referring to the opening at the top between the two pieces connected by pins? That's the only groove mine has.

I experienced that same issue and ended up with quite a bit of damage from it. I had to pause wearing it for a while, but I want to resume soon. Looking forward to seeing what others have to say.

I believe you bought a replica. The genuine CB rings no longer have that groove, but maybe this can serve as a gentle reminder of your lower status. LOL

I suspect it's just an older model.

Is it the vintage style with the hinged base ring? That one was particularly painful.

After testing various plastic and silicone options, I switched to Mature Metal and found the ideal solution—all metal! Don't throw your money away on inexpensive devices; save up for quality. I think we can all agree that's worth it!

Unfortunately, I also bought this Chinese version and am experiencing the exact same issue. Skin constantly gets stuck in the ring's groove, causing sharp pain. Does anyone know how to resolve this? For instance, could we fill the groove with some adhesive to smooth it out? Thanks for any suggestions.

When I bought a counterfeit 6k, I filled the ring grooves using two-part epoxy. Once they were filled, I sanded them smooth. Since moving to metal cages, I don't need to worry about cheap rings anymore.
