Back at university at thirty four, skint, and with a very odd timetable
- Wants
- somebody who can work around a term timetable and no money
- Experience
- Five years, one dynamic of two, ended when I went back to study.
- Around
- the city centre, Manchester
I left a career I was good at and hated to retrain, which means at thirty four I am living like somebody eleven years younger, in a shared house, with a timetable that makes no sense and an overdraft that makes perfect sense.
Five years in this. One dynamic of two years, which ended when I started the course, essentially because I stopped being able to give it any time and she was honest enough to say so before it went bad.
Two things about me are inconvenient and I would rather lead with both. My availability changes every term and swings from almost nothing to entirely free. And I have no money at all, which means I cannot go anywhere that costs, cannot travel far, and would be uncomfortable if anybody spent on me.
What I do have is a great deal of time in the parts of the week when other people are working, and the ability to do anything that needs doing during the day.
What I want is a structured arrangement with tasks I do on my own time and report on. Something that lives in the week rather than in evenings out, because evenings out are not available to me for the next two years.
What I do not want is for the money to be solved by somebody. It does not need solving. Nothing I am asking for costs anything, and the day it does I will not be able to do it.
Where this one puts you on the route
This is somebody standing where you are standing. Before you write a better version of it, the two stages behind you are worth a second look.
