I am extremely good at the boring parts of another person's life

Posted as good_at_admin, 21 August 2026, from north of the river

Wants
somebody who would like the tedious half of her week taken away
Experience
Six years of service, two arrangements, no play in either.
Around
north of the river, London

The thing I am best at is the pile of small administrative jobs that everybody has and nobody does. Renewals. Forms. Appointments made at the hour nobody wants to be on hold. Comparing two options and presenting the answer rather than the research. I do it fast, I do it correctly, and I find it genuinely satisfying, which I understand is unusual.

Forty three, north of the river, six years of service arrangements and no interest whatsoever in anything theatrical.

What I want is to be given a standing list and a deadline and to be held to both. I would like the list to be real: things that actually needed doing and would otherwise have sat in a drawer. I would like to be checked. I would like it to matter whether I did it, which is the part I cannot supply for myself and the reason I am not simply a very organised man with a hobby.

None of this involves money moving anywhere. It is unpaid, that is the point of it, and if anyone were to offer me anything for it the whole thing would stop meaning what it means.

What I do not want is anything physical, anything that requires me to be looked at, or an arrangement where the tasks are decorative. I have been given a list of invented jobs once and I could tell within a fortnight, and it was the most deflating month I have had in this.

Where this one puts you on the route

Offering to be useful is a commitment measured in hours a week, not in enthusiasm. These three run from what that costs to what the first meeting looks like.

  1. 01 What a dynamic actually involves, shape by shape
  2. 02 The venue types that work, with honest odds
  3. 05 The first meeting, and why protocol stays at home
