Looking for a Mistress in Liverpool

Liverpool is a short search. The circle of women who lead openly is small, largely known to itself, and quick to register a new name, which cuts both ways: attention is easy to attract here and impossible to attract twice if the first attempt was poor. Men who run out of city widen eastwards and treat the hour as ordinary. Nobody in a place this size has any appetite for ceremony, and one plain sentence about what you actually want travels further than anything borrowed from a book.
