Looking for a Mistress in Madrid

Madrid keeps hours that quietly disqualify half the men looking in it. The evening starts here when other cities are locking up, and somebody with a six o'clock alarm is not socially in the same city as anybody else. The route in is company: long conversation first and everything else a good deal later. It is a poor city for a man in a hurry and an excellent one for a man who enjoys the wait. August empties the place, and nothing whatever begins in it.

Posts come from the centre, Chamberí, Malasaña, the south of the city and the outer ring. People lead with their quarter of the city because in a search it decides more than anything else they could tell you about themselves.
