Looking for a Mistress in São Paulo

A man conducting this entirely by correspondence gets nowhere in São Paulo. The city is vast and runs on overlapping circles of friends, so being known to a handful of people is worth more than any letter, and the women who lead here are generally reached sideways rather than head on. The working unit of distance is the zone. Ninety minutes of traffic separates two addresses that look adjacent on a map, and anybody serious states which half of the city they can reach on a weeknight.
